you’re reading Emily Wilson iliad too?! What are your thoughts? I’m literally going insane about it rn the tragedy of it all. andromache pleads with hector and he knows he’s gonna die in battle achilles has been told his fate is life or glory helen even says how cruel Zeus is to make them topics of a singers tale far in the future and they still keep fighting!! knowing the outcome!! knowing that they are only pawns for the gods to idly play with!!
its funny you mention hector andromache because the reason im reading it now (i bought it on the day it came out but uni is eating all my time) is im translating book six in class and its breaking my heart its so fucking tragic
Just read the latest chapter and...
Holy sh*t, Alfonse.
Like, I know you're full of surprises and are capable of adapting to your situation, but this is a whole new level.
I am so proud of you.
I find the conflict between Ash and Elm’s personalities somewhat funny due to their differences in build.
Because sure, Ash is calm, kind and polite to contrast Elm being an aggresive little asshole. However, it’s not just their personalities that are opposites, but their builds. Ash is an absolute unit and Elm is a skinny twig. She could punt him into a wall if she wanted and Elm would go through it and several more.
vs
Aka Elm is the typical short, skinny guy who tries to have a presence by being loud an aggressive. While Ash is built like a brick shithouse.
And it makes perfect sense, since, in their beast form, Ash is a gigantic sacred cow, and Elm is a big bat. So Ash is made of muscle, and Elm is built light in order to be able to fly.
So after watching some reactions to last nights FEH Channel, I noticed something in regards to Elm. And no, it's not how literally everyone I watched was surprised when they learned he's a guy (although, mood).
So when Veronica was being taken over and forced to give into her violent urges brought along by Embla, we see her eyes glow this red shine.
Pretty normal possession stuff.
But later on, when we see Elm standing over her, I'm guessing within in her mind to show her helplessness against this power, his eyes are glowing a similar shine.
Not only is this off, since we clearly see in the poster that his eyes are a pale silver/gray
but just look at his face in the first one. It feels so... forced. His smile doesn't look natural and his eyes look more frightened and worried instead of malicious and pleased with himself like the shot is trying to indicate. Yeah, you can say this is just to indicate his power since he's covered in a red aura, but why are his eyes also affected by it? Veronica at least has the excuse that her eyes are naturally red, so his eyes completely changing color just doesn't sit right with me.
Maybe I'm just reading WAY too much into this, but given that the last two books and current Tempest Trial story have really been hammering in that the gods of this world f*cking suck, I wouldn't put it past them to test their possession spell on their own retainer. Cause why have a fiercely loyal guard who will never turn against you when you can have an even fiercer and more loyal guard who will never turn against you?
All I can say is I'm keeping my eye on Elm.
Even more than I already am.
Best Book VI news is that I've been waiting for so long for Yen'fay and Miriel and they're both going to be available outside of the summoning pool, so as far as I'm concerned Book VI is off to a good start :)
Book VI (And Awakening Banner) Thoughts
Well, since I did this for Book V, may as well do it for Book VI. And I'm not really covering Summoner Duel. It looks cool, but I've never been big into the PVP aspect of Heroes, or gaming in general. So let's just focus on the important stuff.
I wonder if they’re gonna keep making the book girls increasingly cinnamon roll. Gone from Resolute girl to Sad girl, to ganki girl, to soft girl to now clutzy soft girl.
We went from ice girl, to goth girl, to fairy girl, to mecha girl, to now cow girl... To say the least, I'm a little scared of what kind of fanart Ash is gonna get :/
