every time a young gay person quits smoking or makes the decision that they want to quit, the sun shines on us all with the promise of happiness and beauty.
i appreciate everybody that’s sharing the sentiment that it’s good for anyone to quit smoking (it is) but i very specifically wanted to highlight and encourage LGBTQ youth because lesbian, gay, and bisexual people are about 1.5 to 2.5 times more likely to smoke cigarettes than heterosexual people, and the statistics for transgender people are even higher than cisgender people. this is due to tobacco companies marketing heavily and aggressively to LGBTQ communities and exploiting the higher rates of mental health struggles prevalent in our communities.
i want and hope to see all my LGTBQ people live long, healthy, fulfilled lives despite how predatory and punishing this world can be. you should stay around as long as you can to make it a little better in your own way.

shane definitely sleep in a very quiet bedroom throughout his life (pre-constantly sleeping with ilya and finally living together) and if it's necessary if he's too overwhelmed or his head is too loud he will look for a way to seek the peace (sounds to calm your mind, best ear piece to silence surrounding). ilya, 100% snores. with long history of smoking packs a day and overworked body and mind and messed up sleeping schedule, when he sleeps he dives in deep and probably took a nuke to detonate to wakes him. as much as shane loves sleeping with ilya, it took him times, his mind, to adapt with ilya's snore. he still got woken up if the snores sounds like a roaring ear-splitting. but shane eventually get used to his soft snore it became his own white noise.

i would like someone to write a fic where cliff marleau gets almost all the way there in figuring out ilya and shane's whole deal but like j.j just thinks that ilya is in unrequited love with his biggest rival. but unlike j.j he would not try to get ilya over shane he knows that won't work. he is going to parent trap the shit out of them. he's locking them in closets. he's inviting both of them to dinner (he pretends to be a major brand and has to get an llc registered to get shane to agree to this) and then ditching. he's hyping up roz to every metro he knows saying did you know roz reads the new yorker. yeah people assume he's an airhead but he's actually really smart. yeah he'd be good to settle down with. dependable. if you know anyone who likes that kind of thing. anyway
