For those of you crying yourselves to sleep because of overpriced textbooks, may I recommend Bookbyte? It's a fantastic website recommended to me by my friend, Janet. To give you an idea of how amazing this website is: On my student page that lists the required materials for my classes, my introductory German course requires the 7th edition of the book "Kontakte", with the access code and workbook. The only option the page gives me is to purchase this book and its materials brand new at $330.75. Cue my inconsolable weeping. But then I remembered this site Janet told me about and I checked it. Bookbyte gives you the option to sell your old books, or to rent/buy books. Kontakte, edition 7, sells brand new on Bookbyte for a little under $150.00. BRAND. NEW. Cue the frat house rager. That is a fantastic deal. Used, I could get the book for a little over $100.00 and I can rent it for about $50. It's so beautiful.

So, if you're freAKING OUT ABOUT YOUR TEXT BOOKS, don't. Go to Bookbyte, breathe more easily.

im so fucking frustrated

i rented a book form Bookbyte

when it came time to return it i printed out the label and all that. However i realized hey i live in Salem and the headquarters are in Salem, why waste money on getting a package, i'll just take it over! this was December 23rd

i go the lady scans it says i'm all good and gives me my 3 dollar cash rebate! i get a reminder email later about turning it in, but it said it may still be processing and that's why i got the reminder. But the office lady told me i was good so i thought i was fine and dandy   

Fast forward to January 19th and i get an email at 3am from the company saying the book is 20 days late and they took the liberty to charge me 190 dollar to my bank account!!!! which overdrew my account and now i have a 50 dollar fee!!!!! Oh and its sunday so their office cannot be reached! 

I check on bookbyte and they have said i got two copies of the book and placed an order of over 230 dollars with them? excuse me??

i called my bank and have filed a claim against bookbyte for a fraud charge and will be going in to their offices tomorrow. 

this is fucking ridiculous
