I understand where you are coming from, but I have to agree with the anon. Those two mean so much to me, and the fact that he said "look at this as a goodbye to Joel and Ellie" makes me mad that that whole room got to see/experience a different send off than what the rest of the world gets. I also just want to be able to see what that interaction was like, just like those in the theater.
If it really was a goodbye to those characters for good, then I’m disappointed, too, that we weren’t able to say goodbye along with them. I’m really feeling mixed emotions the more I hear about the ending and the more information we get, because I don’t want to say goodbye, but if this really does change the feeling of the story then I feel that they do it to the rest of the players out there this sort of goodbye. I’m sorry that was weird to explain, but I agree with you two as well, especially if this means that it could be a final goodbye to Ellie and Joel.
