I’ve been trying to make this evasive mother fucker for months and I give up every time after like a half page of n o p r o g r e s s because its god damn impossible K like the curve at the top has to be a perfect little arch on the inside negative space and it can't be angled with the vertical on the left and let me tell you you think that's easy it's not like yea u can do it but if u just do it without the proper technique your letter form goes to shit k trust me I know your verticals are all off so they can match with the curve and then u realize no matter how hard u try it's not actually perfectly rounded and symmetrical and your proportions are off and it's fucking hell ok not to mention this curve switches from being drawn with the right side of the nib to being drawn with the left u can't just eyeball it ok you gotta do it right and I tried to show my friends and theyre like what are you talking abt its easy and they tried and they completely failed but I did it just now I did it I drew an n and it had the perfect curve at the top and I was like fuck fuck fuck I got out my callig page id been practicing on and tried to replicate the motion and after 3 lines I got that shit I got it perfect I got the curve at the top to the right length and angle I got it smooth with the line on the left I got the serifs at the bottom to happen and I got them to happen just right angle and size and I got the serif at the top to also be correctly sized and angled and curved and match the serifs on the bottom I did it like the bottom isn’t perfectly even and the serifs are all a little off but I got the signature bookhand shape down I did it this is the moment of my life it’s beautiful I feel like I’m looking at my newborn child holy shit I’m gunna cry
