Finished the first fourth of my first novel. I find that I spend a big portion of my free time day-dreaming about my story. 50 pages down, 3 weeks of drafting left. Day 19: Monthaversary & Struggles

Good afternoon awesome people,

I want to first wish my loving boyfriend a happy monthaversary. We have now been together for 3 years and 6 months (my longest) and are still going strong to this day. (someone save me :P)

First thing this morning when I finally decided to get out of bed, err... was forced out of bed by my boyfriend, I checked my e-mail. I had started looking for an artist who would be willing to do cover art for my novel and e-mailed one in particular. I've had two artists in mind to do it, but this particular artist contacted me and gave me something I couldn't ignore: along with the commission, she does facebook cover art and a website banner. Yay.

Three chapters behind, I'm going to try to knock those out all today so I'm not battling the stress this is all causing ;;

Reaching a Milestone: Day 12

I missed three days of writing and hated that I did it today. Both today and tomorrow, I need to write two chapters which is hard to do considering the fact that my brain now is complete mush.

However, today I reached a milestone. Chapter 10 is finished and I now have 22,000+ words in my manuscript. I should have reached this milestone two days ago, but I can't help what has happened in the past. 

Overall, even after the challenges I faced today with getting both chapters done, I'm very happy with what has come of my novel. During the hard moments, I focused on who this was dedicated to; a friend of mine from the UK who was killed in a hit and run in January. I miss him to death and as depressing as the situation is, the memories of him kept me going. I don't want to let him down. So I continued writing, even when on the verge of stopping. Thank you, Doug. I miss you.

This is for you, friend. You will be forever in my life... immortalized in this book on the dedication page. Love you and Rest in Peace (01/19/2013)
