I've been sitting on these photos since AUGUST - I finallyyyy read #BookishandtheBeast by @_ashposton and oh my gosh. I laughed out loud so much! I love this Starfield universe Ashley Poston has created in her #OnceUponACon series (starting with #Geekerella!) and each expansion to this world just makes me even happier. Sometimes the real world is a messy place and you just need a happy, feel good book - and that is what Bookish and the Beast is to me. In August, 2 friends and I went on a socially distanced trip to the Catskills in upstate NY which involved a lot of outdoor activities including hiking & swimming in this waterfall! Of course I had to take some bookish photos - thanks to my friends for humoring me. This is a Beauty & The Beast retelling, but if I didn't know that going in, I might have actually missed it haha, I feel like this story had a great spin on a tale as old as time. Rosie is a relatable booknerd Starfield loving nerd just like the rest of us. I absolutely adore her best friends, Annie and Quinn. These two are the best friends anyone would strive to have in their life. I also loved Rosie's dad, aka Space Dad. He's the "cool" librarian dad but he really doesn't try too hard - he just is cool, and wears rainbow bowties. This book is nerdy and geeky and it feels so relatable to ME as a person. And as #AshleyPoston writes in the acknowledgements, she wrote this book for herself. I felt that, and I felt this book, so thanks Ashley. Full review on the blog, link in bio.
