His crew (DedManz) is becoming more criminal in their activity, GCSEs are chasing him down, and family life is confusing and a demanding. All Ilyas wants to do is work on his comic about a British Pakistani superhero. . Kick the Moon might tackle some tough themes – toxic masculinity, bullying, gang culture, social/ familial pressure and the power of representation in popular culture – however it balances out with the pure joy of comics and the comradery of fellow nerds. . With its superhero references and teen angst, Kick the Moon is an insightful exploration of being a multi-cultural teen trying to find their way in an under-represented world. Khan questions: who can be a hero, and what does it take to be the hero you want to be?
