Hey. It's Jihan. I don't know if you remember me but we talked about books when I bought some rolls from your bakeshop a few days ago? I just wanted to let you know that...I think I'm in loaf. 📱
Jihan groaned. Was he really going to start sending her bread puns? It was bad enough that he was boring as heck, but drowning her in jokes that she's probably heard all her life? Why was he punishing the poor girl? Because being in my life is punishment enough. He rolled his eyes and shook his head, plopping himself on his bed back-first. He likes Aurora, he really does, but he wasn't sure if she'd like him back, if he'd actually be a good thing for her or just another waste of time. Probably the latter.
Staring at the ceiling, he thought about her for the nth time, her smile, her eyes, the way she made him feel during their first-ever conversation, how warm and nice she was, how they could be a good fit together... If only. Oh, crap. Am I...in loaf? He groaned again, picking himself back up, forcing himself to sit once again upright on his bed, and finally crafting his first text. I'm never going to make the perfect text. I'll just try my best and hope she gives me a chance. I probably don't deserve one but I'd still like to try and see where this goes... Before he can send a text, however, someone else beats him with a text of their own: Aurora herself.
Jihan was right about one thing, though: He was never going to make the perfect text. Thus, he was pleasantly surprised and very much relieved when Aurora texted him first. What followed was an exchange that made the rest of his day, and succeeding days, more than tolerable if not extremely positive. It was as if Jihan had found himself on cloud nine, finding more pep in his steps than normal, even smiling and grinning when he shouldn't. The rest was history, but it was not over yet. He remembered that he asked Aurora something, and today felt like a good day as any to make that proposed situation a reality.
"Hey, are you busy today? I'd like to finally get my hands on those buns." 📱
He meant he'd like her to finally teach him how to bake but Jihan was never really that good with texting, especially when he was trying to set-up a date. He was already so far ahead in his own head that he didn't even think of reviewing that text, instead dreaming up what could happen with the two of them after she favorably responds by telling him to come over. What a dork.
