just started rewatching FATWS for the first time since it came out and.

it’s even gayer than I remembered

what do mean Sam is really only smiling and laughing when Bucky’s around? What do you mean Bucky insists he’s upset with Sam but the minutes someone’s talking shit about him he’s ready to throw hands? What do you mean Sam teases Bucky with the biggest grin on his face and Bucky takes it and deals it right back at him???

what do you mean they’re not together?????

And then the field scene. Not only did Sam save Bucky’s life, but they ROLLED THROUGH A FIELD OF FLOWERS CHEST TO CHEST LEGS INTERLOCKED HOLDING ONTO EACH OTHER and BUCKY ENDED UP ONTOP OF SAM. And then Bucky has the audacity to look dazed, almost daydreamy??? Like good sir tone down the yearning.

And the therapy scene. Like fanfic does not nearly do it justice. Dr Raynard LITERALLY SAYS THEYRE DOING EXERCISES FOR COUPLES THERAPY. They sit with their legs INTERLOCKED while STARING INTO EACH OTHER’S EYES and Disney still had the gall to say they’re not boyfriends????

Please. They’re so gay.

I’ve seen a lot of people asking for the next Hunger Games book to be a Plutarch Heavensbee prequel, but honestly, I’m not sure I’d want that, because…

TBOSAS made me hate Snow more.

SOTR made me love Haymitch more.

So, obviously, a Plutarch book would only make me more confused about his character than ever

I love queerplatonic boblena.

like, it just fits them so well. Not just because Yelena is canonically aroace in the comics and likely is in the MCU, but also because… that’s just how they are.

The whole movie, they just have this… connection. Of understanding, of acceptance, of hope and concern and quiet belief.

They’re constantly doing things that say I got you and I understand you and don’t give up, you can’t give up, we have to keep going. At the end of the movie Yelena literally says, out loud, “you’re not alone.”

The whole premise of the movie is that they’re all outcasts, weirdos, people who are shunned by society, but somehow they find each other in their grief and fear. They just get each other. And because of that, they band together to say I get it, I really do, but you have to keep trying, you have to stay, please, we need you, and look, you’re not alone anymore, okay? So please, don’t go. You’re not alone.

Isn’t that just the epitome of the queer experience? To feel completely, utterly alone, hopeless and terrified, only to learn you’re not alone? To learn that, yeah, the world’s pretty damn scary, but it’s not as daunting when you have people on your side who just get you. When you have someone that loves you, despite all your broken pieces? That they look at you and don’t see your mistakes: they see your light and life and you, they see you… suddenly, the worlds not quite as scary anymore.

And that’s definitely been my experience in any relationship, queerplatonic or not, that goes outside the “normal” binary of friendship and romance. We’re weird, and the world is against us, but it doesn’t matter because we’re not alone.

And thats what Bob and Yelena are to each other: someone who gets it, someone who sees all of them, someone who truly cares. Someone who makes them believe, who makes them hope, makes them look at the world and think we can do better, so they do.

Bob and Yelena make each other better, they really do, and the best part is? They don’t need to be strictly platonic or romantic or anything else: they can just be them, and that’s enough.

I loved everything about the KOG pilot: the immaculate world building, stellar pacing, and incredible storytelling. But throughout it all, I could just feel this sense of grief pulsing with its every heartbeat.

There was just this… bittersweetness about the way the creators dissected and tore down Disney (and all major corporations in general- let’s be real here, this series is about how corporate entities as a whole are bleeding society dry) and how it portrayed it’s actions.

It felt like: “You gave me irreplaceable memories, magical moments that shaped my life and who I am, characters that gave me hope when it felt like the world was ending, friends to imagine and play with when I was alone, you were my heroes… so I hate who you’ve become.”

it felt like: “I hate who you’ve become, but I still love you and all you do for me and all you do for future generations. You continue to inspire artists, to give kids a bright future to look for in a world full of fear, to teach others love and acceptance where everyone else is hateful.”

it felt like “I love you for that, but then you turn right back around and do those exact things to me and your other workers. We just want to help support this legacy, but you’re killing me slowly. You’re hateful and fearful and hurting so many people and this can’t be right.”

It felt like: “this can’t be right, but then you make a child smile-you make me smile-and I can’t find it in myself to say I hate you. Because I don’t and I never will, but wouldn’t it be easier if I could?”

it felt like: “So now I’m just going to have this gaping wound in my chest forever more, because I can’t seem to stop loving this legacy you’ve built. So it hurts to see what you’re becoming, and how you’re destroying it all piece by piece, and I hate it… but I don’t hate you. I never could. But I’m not sure I can say I love you the same way”

…and if that didn’t sum up how I feel about Disney right now too…
