Oh goodness I hadn't meant to disappear off the face of the planet! I was so busy with school I hadn't had time to really indulge in anything or post, so I apologize for that! I'm still busy but now maybe I can return to posting gifs or talking about dragons?

I think my favorite thing about How To Train Your Dragon Live Action is the Monstrous Nightmare's design. I find its live action design so beautiful! I already found the Nightmares to be one of my top five favorites, probably sitting at number two underneath Deathgrippers. But the Live Action design absolutely did them justice and I love it so much!
Has anyone proposed pangolin dragons yet?
I don't think I've seen dragons with this type of scale design before? Besides potentially the design from Damsel. But if I recall that was mostly around the neck. Which makes sense, a dragon would need protection around their neck with thicker scales.
I think the idea of dragons using echolocation should be utilized more. Like whales and bats are perfect and the idea of dragons, specifically leviathans, using echolocation would be so cool.
I just think leviathans should be used more also. To me at least there is a distinct like and difference between a sea dragon and a leviathan. A sea dragon is something the side of a boat, as boat sizes are objective, let's say no bigger than a kayak. It makes sense to me because when people say 'sea dragon' it gives me a mental image of an animal that is either mostly aquatic or semi aquatic. Sea dragon feels like an umbrella term like the way the term dragon feels (or the way when someone says 'fish' they could mean all sorts of fish). But to me, a leviathan feels like the ancient beasts that people told folklore about.
Big, monstrous creatures that only surface every once in a once in a lifetime? I can't imagine them bigger than a Humpback or Blue whale but the possibilities are truly endless with them and I wish people did more.
So on that note...

I think dragons should be more birdlike rather than like cats. Hear me out.
Birds have very interesting behaviors. Like I want dragons preening if they have feathers, bobbing their heads, doing weird threat displays like spreading their wings like owls. I want dragons doing dust baths or just regular baths. I think bird behavior is interesting and I'm currently looking at it for more inspiration.
Snake behavior is a plus too, not just hissing, but rattling their tail when they're hatchlings thinking they're big and scary. Opening their mouths when they see a shadow overhead or when something Big is by. Or maybe fanning their necks out like a cobra, or simply coiling up like a snake in piles of little baby dragons!
The possibilities are truly endless and I think it should he expanded on. So many animals to base dragons on. Don't get me wrong, I love the stereotypical cat-dragon, I just want to see more animalistic behaviors being seen. Especially in animals that aren't appreciated nearly enough.
