Guess who’s back? Back Again~?
Reminds me of (https://cgmayra.tumblr.com/post/158300780235/my-very-first-prompt-meme-request-in-an-ask First Prompt Meme and Second Prompt Meme https://cgmayra.tumblr.com/post/164481362565/second-prompt-meme)
I will combine as many prompts as I can get through the last 80 or so TAT FREE ME. lolol
Also, whoever said Sonic and Amy would enjoy watching CHICAGO???? CHICAGO??? I literally had to go and watch this movie just for this prompt and–WHO THE HECK THINKS CHILDREN’S VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS ARE GONNA WANNA WATCH THAT?!
Anyway, here’s your prompts. Go get cultured and educate yourselves like I did on TOTALLY APPROPRIATE AND NOT WILD musical theatre, why don’t’chas? Lolol XDDD I hope you hear the humor and joking in my words teehee
Also, the movie really showcases how easily the world falls for lies and fantasy. Stories woven by those unworthy, selfish, and untrustworthy storytellers pulling you into deceit that others willingly lounge in… because the world is too cruel to not spice it up with a little ‘Razzle-Dazzle’... It was a very sad movie in that regard to me, knowing why the musical was written… Anyway~
I find it my esteemed responsibility to always highlight, emphasize, and stress the level of importance of moral dignity as well as expose the immoral repercussions of the timeless battle between the forces of good and evil. Not all my stories are written with expertise, but they are given with the intent of wonder, entertainment, and emotion. Not all emotions be grand or complex, but I like to take the fantasy and willingly offer you a safe journey through it.
Now, for my original works, you’ll have to read the descriptions to know the purpose of the material, but for these prompts, they really are just here to tug on those beautiful heart strings in some capacity or whatever through the ever-encompassing expanse of my imagination to yours. A joint handshake, if you will, that this is not for teaching, preaching, or practicing–but rather, a breather and a laugh. Enjoy, gentle readers ;)
For all intents and purposes, this is an AU where the characters have been greatly aged up lolol
Staring at her script in front of her, wearing the outfit the lady rushed her into, Amy Rose sat in her late 20’s, flapping down the outrageous musical in her hand.
“Me? The star?” Amy had never acted before. “What a strange day…”
The Phone call was nothing more than routine. Amy would have people asking about interviews with Sonic, or her experiences tagging alongside the blue hero. Even Tails had warned her that Sonic’s resurgence into popular media would mean the media might press on her home. Luckily, it was just phone calls.
“You may come back in, Miss Rose.” That same, older woman ushered her in. She looked frightened of anyone being able to identify an account of her age, and masked it well with all sorts of methods to appear as young as spring itself.
Amy didn’t judge her, but walking in, it was obvious that these men who judged such talent definitely found her age to be acceptable.
“Do you act, my dear?” One, shaking with age in his voice, spoke out.
“N-No, not really… but I’ve always sort of… dreamed of it as a child.” Amy sweetly replied, swinging her arm with the script in her hand before realizing that made too much noise and tucked it back to her front. Her dress was showy, retro, and she figured this must have something to do with Sonic…
“Right, right. But do you like to play pretend?”
Pretending that Sonic and her were-
“Y-Yes, I do.” She nodded, holding an air of mature grace to herself. She wasn’t performing, and that’s the sort of natural talent they were looking for.
“Can you carry a tune, Miss Rose?”
Suddenly, opportunity struck at her heart. Like a big brass band, it beat with a sudden ambition…
Amy lifted her eyes to the spotlight… “I was searching everywhere…” The lyrics just came to her. “Suddenly I saw you there…”
A man, hurriedly, rushed from a chair to take a seat at a piano.
He flared his long coat tails back and sat as though it was on air, his fingers moving like lightning, helping to create a tune for her.
“And my love arrived~ Just in the nick of time!”
The lights flared and Amy was on a stage. Beautiful clothes, feathered boas, dancing actors and actresses…
She was loved for her beauty, a cutie with a slit down her red, layered dress as she spun around the stage, dancing and singing.
She was every girl’s dream to look like, and every man’s fantasy pick.
And she had changed her name, too.
“Rosy Amil, You’re a sensation!”
The press crowded her, fans waving her picture in the newspaper for her to sign, hoping she’ll reach out and pity them. Their passionate applause to her, the shouts of her stage name…
Amy’s emerald eyes lit up in all the jubilee over her.
She chimed with a sweet turn of her head… before her entire face dropped with panic.
Sonic… Sonic The Hedgehog with the most ridiculous disguise!
She moved her head gently left and right, take quick peeks with her eyes, but no one had noticed… the man with a big fat human nose on a blue hedgehog, wearing black glasses with no glass to see out of…
“As one of your biggest fans-” His voice sounded awful nasally, and as though he was impersonating a radio voice. “I must commend you for such a stellar performance! Who do you owe your success to? A friend, family, or even..?” He leaned forward, holding a fake notepad.
“Me?” He whispered in his normal voice, a voice she hadn’t heard in quite some time.
Fear rose through her body to her eyes, making her blink quickly as some of her natural and fake eyelashes fluttered quickly.
To avoid suspicion, she sneezed, “Oh, dear. I’m awfully allergic to your… your-” She noticed, as normal, he wasn’t wearing anything other than gloves and shoes… “... Gloves.”
The fans went ballistic, photos were taken, and everyone swarmed Sonic away from her. He flailed in the sea of hands, each with a voice, asking for what fabric his gloves were made of and being a super fan, how could he have not known!?
“I always knew,” Sonic lied, gritting his teeth, “The lady blushes and you all scream.” He sped out of his disguise and rushed off, out of crowd, causing a new uproar over the appearance of…
Sonic The Hedgehog appeared in all the newspapers, no longer was ‘Rosy Amil’ news anymore…
In her dressing room, she hit a fist to the desk. “You always do this!” She angrily stated, getting back up as Sonic leaned casually on the door frame, balancing a dancing cane on his upper lip before hitting it up to his nose, then twirling it as though to show off how impressive that was.
She moved over to him, ignoring his silence, and yanked it away. “Quit that, it’s gross!”
“I wasn’t the one getting snot all over the cameras.” He teased, referring to her fake sneezing, and tapped his nose. “Besides, Sonic doesn’t do gross.” He then jumped to acrobatically flip onto the top of Amy’s makeup mirror, a broad and heavy seating area for her to get ready at.
His two hands gripped the top, his feet spread out to balance, looking down at her. “What’s the big idea, anyway? Keeping from your friends where you’ve been all this time?” So, she must have been performing for quite some time since the audition, then…
“I just…” She didn’t want to defend herself, “I was insulted by what you said today. Take it back!” She flipped a feather at him and he looked as though about to sneeze, but with a few pulls of his head, he shook it off and sighed in relief.
“It’s like you don’t want anyone to know you’re my friend anymore.” He admitted, jumping down and looking at all her outfits. He moved to a coat rack and pulled out an outfit he scoffed at, thinking it wasn’t in Amy’s good tastes at all. “Didn’t know you wanted to go into show business…” He seemed as though he just wanted to catch up, get some answers. “Even Cream and Vanilla say you haven’t called in quite some time…”
Amy just turned away from him, taking a long breath in and out as her shoulders deflated from that reminder…
“I… I’m keeping my private life secret.” She took some perfume from her dresser and starting spritzing herself with it.
“Oh, so I’m supposed to be fine with being your tired-out secret, is that it?”
She turned her head sharply, “No! Never! I love my friends, it’s just…”
She turned her eyes away and he angrily stepped forward, but kept himself pretty contained.
“It’s just that you don’t want to admit the real reason you were scouted.” He shook a finger at her, “You do sing nice, Ames… You even wrote plays back when we were kids.” He moved to her dresser and took one of her lipsticks, opening it and looking at the bright red color within it, before wringing it out and engarding the feather boa she had taken off and draped over the mirror–the silly man acting as though he was swordfighting off a feathery snake.
“I just never thought you’d abandon your friends for a temporary spotlight.”
“How dare you!” She jumped up, “I’ll have you know that may have been how it started… a phone call inquiring about the talents of a certain blue hedgehog hero’s friends… But I made myself as big as I am now!”
“You seem the same size to me…” He lowered the lipstick sword… gazing at how much she’s changed, but also… trying to humble her a bit.
“Look, we just miss you, okay?”
“Some way to say it!” She yanked the lipstick out of his hand and twisted it back inside, plugging it back into its cap and setting it down where it once was again.
But Sonic wouldn’t have that, he didn’t want her to go back… now that he had taken action, he wanted her to come home…
“Amy,” He moved quickly, grabbing her wrist from storming off. “... We haven’t seen each other in so long… don’t you miss us, too?”
She paused,... her heart panicking.
“What… What do you mean by ‘we’?” She looked back to him, hoping… praying…
“... I meant the whole team.”
That’s not what Amy wanted to hear, and seeing his genuine face about it, it was clear he meant that and nothing else, too.
“Ugh! You’re impossible!” She pulled her hand out of his own grasp, “I finally get something that’s my own, and you’re all suddenly missing me! Even though you all knew how alone I was when you-” She stopped herself, “I finally have a career where I’m creative and… And fulfilled in!” She lifted her hands up, “I feel… really wanted and loved… I love it in the lights! Sonic! In the band, on the stage, where my quilled hair can grow long and unbothered!”
“So… we were a bother, then?” Sonic folded his arms, growing impatient.
“No… Of course not.” Amy sat back down, deflated again at his comment. “It’s just…” She rubbed her hand against the dresser…
“You keep going off on your adventures… why can’t I go off in mine?”
There was silence… until Sonic finally spoke, “The only difference, Amy… is that I learned to take you all with me.” He held out his hand, gesturing to her as her heart broke slightly…
She looked at his hand so guiltily…
“If you had even invited us to see your shows… Maybe… Maybe we wouldn’t feel such bitterness from you, then… maybe….”
“We’d remember that we matter to you again.”
The door was slammed open and as Amy’s head flung towards its direction, she quickly pivoted back to Sonic but the golden coat wrack on wheels swayed… and she knew where he had hidden.
“Sensational, Rosy!” A man came waltzing in, completely absorbed in the fanfare outside and dancing in his own world. “The press can’t get enough of it. The crowds are consuming every picture of you that’s taken! And they’re all marvelous, I assure you!” He was a jolly man, one of the last from the original audition that had helped her soar to new heights.
“We’ve got a new picture, see? A movie act!”
Amy’s jaw dropped, “A movie!?”
“The moving pictures!” He spoke quickly, like someone from a bygone era of cinema. He took her hands and helped her up, “Oh, Amy, my dear! The world may forget Amy Rose, but they’ll never stop talking ‘bout Rosy Amil!”
Her eyes… sorrowfully… turned to the coat rack.
Her heart felt a sudden tinge of shame.
Embarrassed… foolish… idiotic…
“My, what brings out that long face?” The man asked, and she snapped herself out of it with a quick swish of her beautiful pink hair, grown to be much longer and voluminous for the stage.
“Nothing, Brightman. Nothing at all.” She sounded as though Rosy Amil, the actress who came from nothing and rose to stardom again.
“That’s my girl.” He flicked the back of his finger to her cheek, praising her. “Now, get this. It’s called Metropolis. All the sleezebags to the highest of heroes in this one. The Director says no sagas, no sequels. It’s a full one-shot of a whirlwind romance, action movie!”
“My…” Amy would have been delighted… and she still should have been…
But with Sonic right there… not in the open, but listening… she just couldn’t.
“Why, they even said they’re gonna have a bloke star as Sonic The Hedgehog!”
A sneeze came and she faked that it was hers, “Oh my! My ventriliquism is coming along smoothly, don’t you think?” She laughed it off, “Well, Mr. Brightman, I’ll have to talk to you later about signing that contract, eh?”
“O-Oh.., well, of course, umm…” He was surprised to be turned around and pushed out by his back, holding his hat as she waved him out of her room.
“We’ll be in touch!” She closed the door and sighed, looking for Sonic.
Sonic was already in the center of the room again, looking at the mirror…
“... A bloke to play me… huh?” He seemed disturbed by that comment…
“... You could… play it better?” She shrugged, leaning against the door. “I’m sure they’ll be more than thrilled to advertise THE Sonic the Hedgehog as himself, a celebrity appearance is always-”
“... Prime cinema?” He snorted out of his nose, “One minute, you’re upset by my popularity… and the next, you’re encouraging me to embrace it to make you even bigger?”
She pulled in her lower lip, sucking on it out of clear bashful shame.
“You know what? I think he’s right…” He turned to glare at her, “Good luck on your fame, Amy… I’m so glad that when it's friendship vs. honor, you choose neither.”
As he walked past her to get out of the room, he stopped to whisper once again into her ear, “You’ve worked hard on your own merit, Amy… why should I ruin what you built with your own two hands?”
It was later announced that Rosy Amil would play Amy Rose, a cheery but rundown and forgotten friend of her long time crush, Sonic The Hedgehog. She was to kiss him in the movie… a sweet goodbye as he went to stop a feud between gangs in the underbelly of Metropolis… where he was to be shot but survive the ordeal, becoming an even bigger hero to the eyes of the city.
She had to kiss a fake Sonic… and its hard to describe seeing the man you love played by another man’s face… decked out in blue paint and wearing styrofoam green quills to be CGI’d later…
It would be her first kiss…
She felt tears and wiped them away. She didn’t want to play in the movie anymore. She wanted her old life, old home… old… friends…
While about to shoot, a voice caught her off guard from behind her, “Miss Rosy, some water?”
“Thank you…” She took the clear plastic cup without looking at the face, but as she went to drink…
“You know, your friends are really proud of you… following your dreams seems a lot harder and more complicated then what meets the eye.”
She stopped to look at the water, the reflection…
She gasped and turned around, “Son-offph!” She was silenced, as the man in a black mask around his muzzle shushed her, and ushered her to follow.
As she did, a crew appeared, who she thought was in black to blend in with the set… but…
They removed their disguises.
“Oh!” Amy cried out in joy, covering her face. “Tails! Sticks! Knuckles..!” She rushed into them, each having a hardy laugh.
“Well, we figured if someone’s gonna protray us, might as well make sure it’s done right! Haha!” Tails kid.
“Yeah, totally not here cause Sonic said you had to kiss a fake or anything like that.” Sonic shoved the breakroom’s pie into his face, as Sticks whispered over to Amy.
“You know, there’s a few of us who couldn’t be here today… They wanted you to have these.” The gifts were letters, small cupcakes, and doodles by Cream with good wishes upon them from Vanilla, helping her to write it.
Amy couldn’t help but cry now, taking the roses and other fine things, looking to her supportive friends she hadn’t contacted in so long…
“Everyone…” She was overwhelmed.
The crew talked for a while until someone came in to tell her it was time to shoot.
As she was leaving, Sonic took her wrist again.
“Amy… You know, you don’t have to become a star?” She could hear the nervousness in his proposal, and smiled to herself in glee that he was even trying to persuade her.
“Oh?” She turned back to him, “I do miss everyone…”
“Exactly! One, maybe,… Maybe someone misses you so much that they couldn’t stay away for too long?” The shy turn of his head made Amy’s heart swell up in affection.
“Oh?” She moved towards him, “I bet he’s here to save me… Knowing full well I’m about to lose my first kiss to an awful imposter of a… delightful… old… fantasy…”
“Heh, no one can imposter Sonic The-” He turned only to be cut off by how close she was…
The others had already left, and someone called out, “Quiet on the set, please!”
The lights dimmed… she’d either be swept off set or be forced to play it out… her contract and any other deal would be terminated from the breach and finally, she may placed on the black list of Wollyhood, the greatest, and ain’t the sheep-est, place in the Mobius world to make a movie.
Leaning down… Sonic whispered, “Just a quick question,...”
She nodded slowly, making sure to not inch away from anything.
“... Am I kissing Rosy Amil playing Amy Rose… or Amy Rose, herself?”
“That depends… if you kiss her.”
“I may be the biggest fan of Rosy Amil… but I’m something entirely different to Amy Rose.”
As Amy rushed back to the camera set, they gave her the tape that would be used instead of actually kissing the actor.
She laughed, not knowing that was how it was to be done.
A quick turn and some tape… no one would know they didn’t actually lock lips.
But Amy did end up kissing Sonic The Hedgehog that day…
Although Rosy Amil didn’t.
Rosy Amil was a huge success as Amy Rose, the movie did well, and the Director was pestered with sequels.
Rosy Amil stepped down from acting, and no one ever heard from her again…
Consequently, Amy Rose returned to her old home, her old friends again, and lived… happily, ever after~
