Heyo more Smiling Friends, but different this time

Sometimes I tend to see those comics on newspapers or Internet with outdated jokes and I decided to combine it with Smiling Friends, because I wanted to see if I can imitate that style, experimenting a little with digital thingies

So I wanted to post a gay comic for pride month but when I looked up “gay boomer comic”(and I cannot emphasize enough)the only results were either homophobic or furries(idk what this was about but there was so much furries). Luckily Gary Larson came through. My friend in trying times

I gotta give this one 9/10 I think, I love Gary Larson obviously, it’s a solid pun, and I love the cow lesbian bar, that’s iconic(I always get a kick out of the cows)but it’s not the best Far Side out there. The best one is Cow Tools obviously

This probably won’t make any sense and I’m probably looking too deep into it but

You know the common meme of The Narrator and Stanley as those Boomer Comics? I noticed something about those: most of them (not all, but very frequently) have The Narrator in the role of the wife.

The wife in those comics is usually depicted as being of a nagging, bitchy sort, commonly depicted by a man who is balls-deep in misogynistic principles and doesn’t see her as a human being capable of autonomy.

If one were to read (or rather casually glance) between the lines, the wife is usually complaining due to a real issue or injustice that the husband brushes aside, usually framing himself as the victim when he’s the one in power.

A lot of people complain that The Narrator acts like a dick to you, but you’re the one who has to act first. They complain about him keeping Stanley here, but you’re the one choosing to play.

The Countdown Ending? You betrayed him. You tried to take control, and you already have enough.

The Not Stanley Ending? You completely ignored him, before going out of your way to ruin his story (as he puts it “it was the only thing in the world that was mine”).

He has no choice here, just like the wife, and yet people demonise him for showing dissatisfaction with his situation and make him the villain, just like the husband.
