Saikhan had been up for hours at this point, sitting outside on one of the pavilions, legs folded under him as if he were meditating and a cup of tea settled between his thighs. He wasn't sure at exactly what time he'd woken- just that it had still been dark and Lin had halfheartedly slapped at his bicep as he'd slipped out of bed, muttering something about getting his ass back in bed before rolling over and falling back asleep.
He smiled, lips quirking up fondly at the corners as he took another deep sip of tea, and brought up a hand to fumble with the bracelet tied securely around his wrist as he stared out at the rising sun. It really was beautiful, and he was beginning to feel glad that he and Lin had tagged along on Tenzin's supposed 'family field trip'- there had been a bit of a snafu at the beginning, but now...
He was beginning to feel more relaxed.
Perhaps it was the lack of angsty teenagers, he mused.
It was only as he began to hear the hustle of the air temple beginning to buzz with life that he stood with a yawn, stretching out his arms and various aches in his joints as he rose. He swore he could already hear the sounds of Jinora, Meelo and Ikki echoing through the temple, though it could have just been residual memory from the fact that he'd spent the past few weeks never far from the three little airbenders.
He imagined he'd hear Pema chasing after them soon enough, regardless.
That gave him a thought, and he let out a hum as he headed towards the closest kitchen. He nodded and greeted the various Acolytes he ran into on the way, and even managed to have a conversation with one of the older Acolytes as he worked at preparing a pot of tea- he knew that Lin would need it when she finally rolled out of bed, and certainly Pema and Tenzin and his siblings would probably appreciate it, as well.
