#BoomPH Social Media Weekend 2014
Somehow my weekend turned into something interesting with the help of #BoomPH, an event by tweetupmnl and mashable to discuss about the boom of the internet and where we are now especially with social media platforms empowering the whole netizens to speak their minds.
I was out with my girlfriend as usual because this is the only time and day where we can spend the day with each other and relax. We’re already in SM Aura when we decided to go to Market Market for some errands to do. While taking a break at a yogurt store, I was checking my instagram and saw the post by smaura that #BoomPH is already happening at Samsung Hall.
I was quick to check out the details and we go back to SM Aura to check it out. This is my very first event I was attending that is related to my job (and my hobby). So I was really excited.
There were lots of people that attended as well as different companies and organizations: bpi, globetelecom, @tumblr ph, changedotorg, @google, igersmanila and more.
We got to see ipetim up close. She was just standing in front of us. :) My girlfriend quickly recognizes her because she was following her in both twitter and instagram.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Jonathan Yabut did a really great speech about how to turn #selfies into a useful tool to battle some of the problems here in the Philippines.
We also got to watch different videos from globetelecom and more.
All in all, I feel really accomplished and got to share it with my social media team at myproperty.ph (a website by @summitmedia and ringier AG partnership).
