I’m sure it’s natural to see Skam in everything bc it absorbed my life for so long, but The Midnight Library is wild. I thought it immediately with the whole infinite parallel lives bit, but then there were yellow curtains, and now they’re having a philosophical conversation that sounds so familiar (most similar to Elu, I think). Anyway, they’re totally unrelated I’m sure, but of course my brain immediately went to the skamverse.

Alright so I disliked A Court of Thorns and Roses because I didn't like Tamlin all that much, and because she wanted him so badly, I didn't like Feyre. Buuuuuut A Court of Mist and Fury, ok. Rhysand. Get me a cold glass of water. I'm only on chapter 14. He's so mysterious and could be bad, but also like, really great? He doesn't trap Feyre?? Gives her a fuckin pool for a bathtub? He makes me like her more?? Because she's finally coming to her senses about damn Tamlin. But there's a lot of book left...and then A Court of Wings and Ruin...Christ on a bicyclette. I'm hooked. The internet was right again.

book sale report! it’s super overcast and I can’t take pictures but:

-extremely crowded (I miss the days when there might only be 3-4 people in the morning, now there’s about 50! I shudder to think how crowded it gets after work and school lets out)

-air conditioning was broken

-they have a new area where you can drop off your heavy bags of books so you can keep shopping without breaking your arms, which I didn’t learn about until I had 4 bags of arm-breaking weight and was just about done

-38 books total for $23!! only 4 adult books though (Princesses: the Six Daughters of George III, Witnesses of War: Children’s Lives Under the Nazis, Salem Possessed: the Social Origins of Witchcraft, The Hapsburgs)

-Rest of the books are a mix of Christopher Pike, Babysitter’s Club, Bailey School Kids, a few newer picture books (Dragons Love Tacos, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late) and a loooooot of fairy tales.

Just finished listening to Babel by RF Kuang and it made me sad.

And I have a feeling starting book 2 of The Ending Fire Trilogy isn't gonna make me feel less sad.
