when you shit on human artists and writers for creating fan works of a ship you don't like, you are actively making room for AI grifters to take their place.

recently, the world's most active BooRai fanfic author took down all of their BR work from pixiv (dozens of fics over the past 5 years) because of a recent influx of people bullying and harassing BooRai fans on different socials. in the leadup to the DX release a lot of people felt emboldened to attack us for our "incorrect" and "evil" ship, and this particular writer took down all their work, for safety.

also recently, an AI account uploaded a bunch of hideous AI images of BR to pixiv (all off model and with generic body types) in a batch of hundreds of anime porn AI images from random ships. while i've unfortunately seen a lot of AI images of ryza and klaudia, this is a first for BooRai. and for me, as one of the few artists in the world drawing this ship with our own hands, it makes me want to vomit. it feels like a violation of our collective creativity, of all the love and effort that our small community has put into this ship. our tight-knit fandom has been lucky enough to avoid AI interlopers until now, and seeing this shit at the same time that our biggest fanfic author was bullied into taking down her work? i am literally sickened to tears.

maybe it's my fault for searching on pixiv, knowing they've been gross in their accommodation of AI art. but the reason i was on there in the first place was to download backups of all the BooRai fic that's still on there, in case any other writers get harassed off the platform. i hate that i have to think about things like this in the first place, but seeing disgusting AI art on top of that makes my blood boil.

the most active writer in the worldwide BooRai fandom spent half a decade writing dozens of beautiful, heartfelt stories from their own imagination and with their own words. for this, they were punished with harassment and bullying and threats.

some random AI user took a few seconds to make a plagiarism machine shit out all of these off-model, generic, soulless nothing images of mass produced dog shit without any regard for the actual characters. for this, they get hundreds of likes per image and a thousand followers overnight.

are you seeing the problem?

i don't like the fact that real artists and writers get harassed off of platforms because of shitty fans who can't handle people liking something they don't like, while AI grifters get to do whatever they want because their image generators shit out content faster than anything can be done about it.

sincere and passionate artists and writers get punished for their love and effort, while grifters who don't even care about the ship get rewarded for their laziness and cynicism.

and as a result of this, search results for our favorite ships are skewing towards slop.

this is a perfect example of the fact that when you treat artists and writers like shit, you make every fandom worse. not only because you normalize the unacceptable behavior of harassing strangers, and hurting a real person over disagreements over fictional characters. but you very actively contribute to a lack of real, heartfelt fan works for the world to enjoy.

and don't you fucking dare gloat over this happening to a ship you don't like. it'll happen to yours too if you enable this kind of behavior.

i'm so fucking disgusted right now. the BooRai fandom around the world has been nothing but positive. there aren't many of us. we don't start drama, we don't do ship wars, we don't exclude anyone, and we always uplift other creators. we never bother anyone else and we just pour positivity into the thing we like without hurting anyone. and this is the kind of shit that we have to deal with just because people across cultures can't understand "ship and let ship."

human creativity is being bullied off the internet while AI slop is being welcomed without accountability.
