Why I Think Ryan Booth Is Framing Alex Parrish

Quantico is a pretty neat show. At least I think os, It’s biggest mystery is who is/are the person/people framing agent Alex Parrish who is currently being accused of bombing Grand Central Station in New York. I think Ryan Booth is involved. And you might ask: why? He’s helping her? 

That’s why I’m currently writing this post. To help you see the light. I might be totally wrong. If that’s the case this would be quite embarrassing. But I’m risking it. I hope this is somewhat coherent. This is a long post and image heavy. 

Events that are directly related:

1. He gets shot. But not fatally. He gets shot in his shoulder. There appears not to be that much blood. And I don’t think you can pass it off as sloppy aim. I mean the person framing Alex is an FBI Agent. They get trained to have good aim even when they have to react quickly. Also WHY WAS HE THERE?!

This event is also the main reason why I think Ryan is not working alone. Because he’d have to have shot himself and got rid of the gun and any other evidence. So, that’s my joined effort theory.

In this scene Ryan is confirming all the things Alex said about him in the first episode. But we have no way to know if any of this is true. Earlier this episode Liam told him to make Alex trust him again. Opening up to her is clearly a way to try to make that happen. 

“I can keep the FBI off your trail, buy you some time. But I have to make it look like I think you’re guilty.” 

SURE, BOY, SUUUURE. If he was really committed to helping Alex there could’ve have been so many other things he could’ve done here. Yet he chooses the one that’s worst for her. Buying Alex time buys him and whoever he’s possibly working with time too. Because if the FBI is looking for Alex they’re not looking for anyone else.

He also says “Don’t trust anyone.” I mean??? 

When Liam tells Ryan to make Alex quit the FBI he defies his orders. Alex is very good yes, and making her quit would be a waste of her talent. But if Ryan is the one framing her he’d have put all this work into getting to know Alex for nothing. 

“Maybe she thought I was the one framing her? I know, it’s crazy but..” 

HE SAYS IT!!! RIGHT THERE!!!

“From the moment I first saw you I knew I didn’t want to let you out of my sight.” 

????!!! That is so creepy I don’t even know where to start. Also when Alex replies “I’m glad.” He makes a creepy face that basically says that’s she going to regret saying that.

Alex asks him (as her persona) “How do you know you won’t lie to me to? Maybe you already have.” Ryan looks down and avoids the questions by asking her a question. 

And then they have sex. Again. And yet Alex still doesn’t know Ryan is meant to spy on her. Yikes.

Ryan was one of the agents stationed near Grand Central. Obviously we don’t know the exact timeline of when the bomb went off versus the time Ryan was at Alex’s apartment. But he did gloss over the fact that he was stationed there pretty quickly. 

Once again Ryan and the other person/people he might be working with have a lot to gain by keeping the focus on Alex if they’re planning another attack. Or even just to get away with it. 

Ryan’s main focus is to keep Alex close and make her trust him, it seems. 

Liam’s shady subplot that might be related but might not be:

We already know Liam is shady and has some shit in his past butBut at least it proofs that Ryan is untrustworthy af and should stay far far far away from Alex. 

He had sex with her even though he knew she was his assignment. It wasn’t sure after the first episode but it’s confirmed in the second episode when Ryan and Liam watch Alex during her interview. 

“That’s her?” “She’s your mark.”

From the moment they first meet Ryan tries to get close to her. Him having sex with her while spying on her is gross. 

“When I volunteer to go undercover..”

He volunteered to go undercover. He was on probation (as we learn later) yet he volunteered to go undercover. Was he trying to find someone to frame? Did Liam push him into volunteering? We just don’t know. 

Liam really pushes for Ryan to gain Alex’s trust. What is his plan? We just don’t know. 

Did this post make sense? I hope so. Again, I might be wrong. We won’t know for sure until it’s actually revealed on the show. Maybe I’m just paranoid. Maybe my disinterest in Ryan’s character as just another white male lead is clouding my judgement. Anyway...

Conclusion: Alex should dump Ryan and kiss Shelby. But that’s just my opinion.
