Squat Progress
Scrolling back through my workout logs, I used to do up to 6 reps with 100kg, but not with all (or any) of them being full ROM (kissing the second rail height bars) back in early 2025
Then I could barely do any because of my knee injury. But I've basically resolved that now. And I just need to accept that I need to avoid hack squats, the "perfect squat" machine, or anything else that positions my bum far behind my feet. They isolate quads so well, but at the expense of putting pressure on my kneecaps. Which was the source of my issue.
ANYWAY I've been able to squat heavy again, and I've finally got back to 100kg. 2 reps, the first perfectly kissing the bar, the second a little less depth. But both good. Did that twice just now 🎉
And I'm off cut now 🎉 keeping it sensible ish. But it's nice to have treats again. And in July after we're back from Big Holiday I'm excited to start another actual program on Boostcamp. Kong strong by Alexander Bromley. I've just been coasting for a while year doing PPL with no progress because I was reluctant to start any program with my bum knee, and I had MMA as a new outlet/goal. But now I'm ready again let's gooooo
