WiP - Jasdavi Pt 2 - Pants & Boots
Mainly boots. I had plans for the boots, as they have a very interesting pattern and well I like a challenge ...
you will learn I did not like this challenge.
I made the pants with leftover fabrics from Crown Clown and it's basically how I make thights and just added a middle seam. They were finished in 5 minutes.
Nothing I can say about the boots.
The pattern was a quick job but the decorations? I tried sculpting it onto the fabric but the foam clay didn't stick. Then I thought about sewing on ribbon but that was ... not great either. Then stitching which looked weird too. I decided to paint it. After testing a bunch of colors.
Well what can I say? I felt this wasn't going to be it. I somehow was very anxious regarding the boots right from the start and at this point I was going to give up.
It looked just so darn tacky and not like I wanted it to look. I even ordered different boots as a solution.
In the end I decided to take a nap.
After that I tried to stick on Foam Clay to the paint and it ... worked? It sticked to it!! Was even hard to be removed again.
Motvated I decided to add the sole and work further on the boots. They took form.
And then I wanted to attach the Foam Clay and .... it didn't stick. Nowhere. I have no idea why it worked just 1 hour prior q_q
I ended up painting a border around the decoration I had painted already, which made it a bit better. Still I am not sure if I like them, maybe with the coat later on.
To say that I am a bit anxious regarding the coat too as I decided to order a specific fabric that I thought would fit the aesthetics from the 2000s greatly but I wanted to make the pants from a black fabric like that which I had in the stash for a few years and it's super brittle I had to throw it away.
The one I ordered is more flexible and durable so I hope it will perform better.
Anyways here is Jasdevi in how he has to sit here until I have the fabric to continue. And of course there will be a lot of paint involved regarding the face up, I am not yet sure of the color I want I think I will truly go with a gray, maybe with some undertones, I have enough practise to mix it from Alastor. So.
Hope December will not eat me as much as I fear and this poor doll will not wait too long.
