Was recommended this book from a Tiktok as a diverse horror novel. I feel like the concept of having multiple stories in one book is good in the way that they're all so completely different that if you get disappointed by one, you have the hope for the next one being better.
Some had a good concept (like the last story "Reunion"), but clearly very underdeveloped. The story of the Ruler of the Winds and Sands is another example, that was a story that you could write a whole book on, instead it was just 20 pages speedrunning the whole thing. With no build up or meat on the bones, everything happening just made no sense.
Other stories were just plain bad. I don't get "The Head". Off-putting, sure, but made no sense. Or I'm just to dumb to see the second layer.
