So I checked Cursed Bunny out of the library last week. It's going to hit a bunch of prompts on 3 or 4 different reading challenges for the year.
Linda, our lovely librarian, took one look at it as I collected the reservation, read the blurb and went 'oh yeah that's going to be right up your street'
It's a collection of short stories, translated from Korean, and promised to be 'a genre-defying collection of short stories [...] blurring the lines between magical realism, horror, and science-fiction, Chung uses elements of the fantastic and surreal to address the very real horrors and cruelties of patriarchy and capitalism in modern society.'
I've read the first two short stories so far and yes. YES. They are delightfully disturbing and I absolutely loved them. Definitely an author I will be seeing if I can get more of!
