ah, yes!! i’ve thought long and hard about this and arrived at a nice picture for each of the boys in my head :)

ben

• i’m calling it right now. i don’t think ben is very fond of baking. 

• sure, he’ll bake with you because you like it, but i don’t think he ever thinks to himself, time to bake some yummy cupcakes!

• he’s there to spend time with you, so that’s what he’ll do. 

• so he’s watching, he’s trying to pay attention, but he’s also kind of doing his own thing too

• like, he’ll keep talking about something else in the middle of you giving him instructions

• “i had a dream where i was on a date with allen, and when i came back from the bathroom, he was trying to eat the candle wax from the candle.”

• “ben, please fold the goddamn flour in.”

• but at the end of the day, he’s doing what you need him to do because he knows how much you like to bake.

• he even feels a little guilty when your cake is in the oven, pulling you close to him and whispering, “i’ll promise i’ll help out more next time.”

• but you’re okay with the little help he gives you, because even just being around ben is enough for you to have a good time.

gwil

• okay, i think we can all agree on this one: if gwilym lee is going to do something, he’s gonna make sure he does it well.

• for the both of you, baking is a joint effort. you both enjoy it, but your approaches vary.

• you’re just doing what you’re supposed to do, pouring and whisking while chattering away with gwil.

• but gwil insists that instructions are meant to be followed, y/n! 

• so he’s making sure that one cup means one fucking cup, he even smoothes out the flour with a knife so you’re only getting the precise amount.

• but gwil’s efforts pay off, eventually, because of course, your cookies are out of this world.

• and of course, gwil is mr. smuggers once you’ve tasted your creation, because see? i was right. 

joe 

• pretty early into your relationship, you’ve declared to joe that you think you’re a really good baker.

• so he brings it up one day, challenging to you bake a better batch of cookies than him.

• you laugh it off, because we’ll need a lot of ingredients for that, joe, are you sure you want to spend that much money?

• but joe only drags you into the kitchen, and you find that joe has already laid the ingredients out for each of you on separate sides of the kitchen counter.

• oh, so that’s how you want to play it?

• of course, y/n, i’m going to bake you off so hard.

• neither of you is sure what that means, but you get to baking soon enough

• joe takes it way too seriously, insisting that he’s going to make you taste the best cookies you’ve ever eaten.

• but you only brush off his challenge with a ha!

• and let’s be real, it really doesn’t matter who does better than the other.

• in fact, neither of your cookies even make it to the oven.

• because when you walk away from the counter to grab a dish towel, joe runs behind you, pinning you to the counter with a it really doesn’t matter who does better does it, because we both know who’s the boss of who in this house.

• whom, joey. 

• oh well, it was an eventful evening, one way or the other.

rami

• in my head, rami is in a similar situtation as ben, he’s not really fond of baking.

• but he sees that you want to do it, so he’ll be there with you.

• but unlike ben, he’s actually paying full attention, trying to follow your instructions

• he even asks questions, like what’s the difference between all these different types of flours? what if i use a different kind?

• oh, i can see the fascination on his face when he sees you do something, just going, whoaaaa, when he smells the browned butter mixed with sugar. 

• it’s a hands-on learning experience for rami, and he makes sure the information is stored somewhere in his head for a later time.

• (and he’s not going to tell you this, but later time means he’ll have a plate of cookies ready for you when you get home when he knows you’re going to have a hard day of work. he’s really the best, isn’t he?)

16 and 4 from Angst sentences with Gwilym :) maybe Gwil comes back from press tour and something happened to reader while he was away and she was too scared to tell

4. “Why are you lying to me?”

16. “Are you hurt?” “No.” “Then why are there bruises all over your face/body?” 

Gwilym was an amazing husband. He was just amazing. He was sweet, kind, respectful. But the one quality you admired about him more than any other, is that he was understanding.

He was always there to listen and understand the situation so he could make it better.

And that was all you could think of right now.

“He’s understanding, isn’t he, Y/N?” you mumbled to yourself as you sat on the couch waiting for him. “He’ll understand.”

But as much as you tried to calm yourself, you were afraid you’d taken it past the point of understanding this time. 

Just as you were about to scream — again — in frustration, your doorbell rang. You slowly pulled your hands from under your legs, getting up and plastering a smile on your face. It wouldn’t be too hard, as an actor yourself. 

Your smiling husband stood on the other side of the door, his smile turning into a full-blown grin at the sight of you. He immediately dropped his shoulder bag to the floor, rushing in to wrap his arms around you. You winced as his arms brushed over the bruise on your arm, still managing to hug him back.

“Oh, Y/N,” Gwil sighed into your neck, his grip tightening on you even further as he swayed gently. 

This time you involuntarily let out a squeal in pain, Gwilym immediately pulling away at the noise. His hands came to your arms, the warmth of the skin feeling hot against your injuries. You wiggled out of his grip, going over to the couch as you chuckled nervously. “Arm day, you know?” you tried, trying not to look at Gwil. 

Gwilym hummed, not fully convinced. He headed out the door to bring his bags in, setting them down right at the door before joining you on the couch. This time when he brought his hand around you, he made sure to do so gingerly. His arm only came around your shoulder, his thumb rubbing tiny circles.

“I missed you so much,” he whined, leaning into your side and burying his face in your neck yet again. The pain was there, but it wasn’t unbearable so you let him continue. You felt him press light kisses to your skin, none of them doing anything to excite you. “Did you miss me, wifey?” He asked innocently.

“Oh, god, yes,” you whispered, fluttering your eyes shut. “God, don’t go away for so long again.” Gwilym had no idea how much you meant that. He was off in Australia for press when you needed him the most. If he’d been here, nothing would have happened at all. 

“I can’t make any promises,” Gwil chuckled, pulling away. He swept his eyes over your face, his expression changing from one of glee to concern in a matter of seconds. “Baby?” He asked, bringing his hand up to tuck your hair behind your ear.

“Yeah?” You asked, mirroring the softness in his tone. 

“Are you… Are you hurt?” His voice was incredibly soft, he almost sounded afraid.

“No!” You dismissed him quickly, standing up to pick up his bags and carry them to your bedroom.

“Let those stay there.” His voice was commanding, and you couldn’t not obey. You dropped the bag immediately, one of your hands coming to latch onto your other arm. “Come here,” he called, holding out an arm.

You took his hand and let him pull you towards himself, perching yourself in his lap, one leg on either side of his body. He slowly brought his hands to your face, gently rubbing his thumb across the skin.

“Baby, please tell me.” He asked, pulling your face to his so he could connect your foreheads together. “If you’re not hurt, why am I seeing bruises on your face?”

Your breath came out shaky as you said his name in defeat. As Gwil brought one of his hands to the back of your head in an attempt to make you feel better, a tear slid down your cheek, giving you away.

“I got into an accident,” you managed to get out, the words only just decipherable. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I—”

“Sweetheart, what?” He moved his head back to get a good look at you. “Why didn’t you tell me?” He asked, clearly really worried. 

“I should have, but I didn’t, and I’m sorry—”

“How did it happen? And how much did you get hurt?” He asked, his eyes running over your body. He slowly rolled the sleeves of your t-shirt up, “This is why you pulled out of my hug?” His voice shook with his words, the tears brimming in his eyes. 

You nodded, gulping hard. 

“Did you go to the hospital? How did the accident happen?” 

You didn’t know which question he wanted answered first, and he could gauge as much from your expression. 

“Okay, okay, wait. First tell me how it happened.”

You relayed to him how you’d miscalculated the distance of another car as you turned onto another street. The other driver wasn’t able to save himself from an accident in time, sending the front of his car into the side of yours. Luckily, he’d hit the passenger side, not doing much damage to you.

Gwilym only made a sound of distress, running his hands over your arms as carefully as possible. “Why did you lie to me about it?” He sounded hurt.

“Because…” 

“Please tell me, baby.”

“Because it was your car,” you mumbled, looking down at your lap.

“Oh,” Gwil said slowly, “How much is the damage?”

“Totaled.” 

“Insurance will cover some of it, won’t it?”

“Only some.”

“What about the other guy? His car?”

“He’s still in the hospital, but his injuries weren’t fatal.” You were starting to feel calmer, since Gwil was listening without getting angry at you. “I visit him every day.”

“And his car?”

“Also totaled.”

Gwil nodded slowly, dropping his shoulders. His hands came to your waist, “Any injuries here?” He proceeded to wrap his arms around your waist when you shook your head no, resting his head on your chest. “I’m so happy you’re okay. You are, aren’t you?”

“More or less.” You slipped your fingers into Gwilym’s hair, tenderly running them through the locks. 

“Well, then I’m happy.”

“What?”

“Do you want me not to be?”

“No, no, I just… I wrecked your car.” 

Gwilym pulled out of his embrace, boring his eyes into yours, eyebrows slightly furrowed. “Cars will come and go. There’s only one of you. I’m so happy you’re alive. And safe. And that the other driver is too.”

“You really liked your car.” You said softly.

“But I like you a lot more. And as long as you’re with me, we could be anywhere in the world, with no cars at all, and I’d still be the happiest man on the planet.”

imagine meeting gwilym in a library bc you’re too short and only mr tree man could reach the book you were trying to get from the top shelf & he asks you out from there

i cannot relate at all, because i am a licheral giant, but this one’s for y’all short cuties!!! 

i went with college!gwil for this one

so there you are, in the library yet again, researching for your paper, and you’ve just about had it with asking others for help to reach the books on the top shelves. so you’re trying to get it yourself, standing on your absolutely tippy toes and holding onto the bookshelf to reach the books

but this one time the book you want is way up there so after trying to reach for a couple of minutes, you just give up and and rest your hand up above your body on the bookshelf. you’re considering just deep-diving on the internet to find a pdf, but it’s the voice of a stranger that stops you.

when you crane your neck - and really crane it - to look up at who it is, you’re met with a kind smile looking down at you. “do you need any help?” his smooth voice asks, and you can’t help but notice and his voice is not the only thing that’s making you shy. 

you shake your head quickly, telling him that you’ll be okay.

“did you need a book from up here?” he asks, very casually reaching up and running his fingers along the spine of all the books on the top shelf. the tall bastard. when you nod quietly, he chuckles, asking “which one?”

you give him the name, your voice only a shy mumble, and before you know it, this cute boy has pulled the book you want and held it out in front of you. “philosophy? with professor foster? or professor white?” when you do tell him, he grins wide, telling you he has the same professor. 

his name sounds pretty. he looks pretty. so when he asks if he can sit with you, you don’t hesitate, instantly offering the space next to yours. gwilym makes some small talk as he sets up shop, after which you work on your own stuff for a few hours.

(you could swear you saw him looking at you over his laptop every ten minutes or so, but you could just be telling yourself that because what’s better than an attractive guy sneaking looks at you?)

finally, gwil gets up, knocking on the table softly to get your attention. “hey, i was, uh, you know, i was going, um, never mind, i’m just, forget it.”

you can’t help but chuckle nervously, wiggling your toes under the table. “is something wrong?” you ask, darting your eyes around.

“i just wanted to ask if you’d want to get coffee with me?” he looked utterly adorable as he looked at you through soft eyes, his head cocked to the side as he waited for a response. he looked nervous, you’d say on another day. “maybe get to know each other a little bit?”

you smile, beginning to pack your stuff up without giving him a verbal response. “what do you know, we might really end up liking each other?” you asked, chasing that small surge of confidence you felt.

and you were right. you ended up liking each other a lot.

That dad!gwil concept omg dad gwil KILLS ME! Him spending the day golfing and then coming home and letting his little daughter tell him all about her day with mummy.

oooh i’m glad you liked that concept!! i am so here for family guy gwil, it’s what we need.

at the end of the day, i’m sure aidan ended up learning a little bit from gwil, and just seeing his dad so excited about golfing made him want to go again. 

gwil was practically vibrating with happiness because he got to spend the day with his son. i imagine he blasted his son’s favorite songs on the way back home and even tried listening carefully so he’d remember them for next time. 

you and daisy have a lovely day at the park. you take your dog (whom daisy insisted be named butterball) with you, and the way he runs around leaves daisy giggling the entire time.

gwil and aidan are home before you and daisy, both sitting on the floor. gwil is peering into a piece of paper that aidan is writing something on, his glasses perched delicately on his nose. the moment he hears the door open, he shoots up, rushing over with arms held out. “my favorite girls are home!!”

daisy is quick to leap into gwil’s arms, her bubbly laugh loud in the room. “hi, papa!” gwil gives daisy an audible kiss on the forehead, putting her down despite her whine. 

“hello, butter,” gwil crouches to greet your golden retriever, who is just as excited to see your husband. gwil gets up, “and you,” he winks, finally kissing you chastely. 

both your kids pretend to retch, causing you to shoot a look to both of them before making your way over to the couch. “what were you up to, aidan?” 

“i was showing dad this math trick anna taught me in school,” he mumbles, getting up to sit next to you, quickly joined by gwil and daisy. 

“papa,” daisy calls, “a butterfly sat on my sandwich today,” she plays with gwil’s fingers.

gwil gasps, “what color was the butterfly?”

“it was blue and yellow. it was so pretty!” 

“not as pretty as you,” gwil lovingly tugs on daisy’s pigtails, leaning towards her with a fond smile on his face.

“and mama,” aidan pipes up, ducking when you put your arm around him. 

you can’t help but smile wide. so wide that your face hurts. because this is all you’ve ever wanted. a beautiful family with the person who makes you the happiest.

and this family is more than you could ask for. the most beautiful.

imagine waiting for gwil to come home

you’d come to visit gwil on set, the flight from your hometown to london draining you completely

you knew gwil would be gone all day; you’d just have to spend the day in his apartment. you decided to get some work done while you waited, even though you had told yourself you wouldn’t work for the next few days.

a few hours passed as you worked. you ordered some food and washed it down with a few glasses of wine as you continued with work.

before you knew it, you were getting drowsy. you didn’t want to go to the bed till it was with gwil, so you simply pushed your laptop aside and sunk into the couch.

sleep was just taking over you when you heard the front door click - gwil had come home.

“sweetheart,” gwil cooed when he saw you in the living room. you kept your eyes shut, wanting to see what he’d do.

you could hear the sound of his boots on the floor as he walked over, putting the laptop on the coffee table, taking a sip from your glass of wine. 

he brought his hand to your face, tucking your hair behind your ear as gently as he could. “you work so much,” he whispered.

you turned your face towards him, opening your eyes a tiny bit. “hi,” you whispered back.

“you’re awake,” gwil chuckled, pressing a kiss to your temple. “i thought you took this week not to work.”

“but you were working, so i thought i would too.” you reasoned, turning your body towards his. gwil shifted, adjusting so that he could hold you better.

gwil made a sound of disapproval as he took your hand into his own. he played with your fingers, running his fingers over every part of your hands.

“i have tomorrow and the day after off,” he said, smiling.

you made a sound of excitement - still quiet - before a yawn took over.

gwil laughed again, touching a finger to your nose. “you’re so cute.” he stood up, holding out an arm to you, “c’mon, let’s go to bed.”

you stood up with him, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. “i had a very different idea of how tonight would go down.”

gwil was tugging on your arm, “maybe tomorrow night. or morning,” he said, his voice only slightly teasing. he sounded tired too.

once you were both under the covers, gwil pressed you close to him, kissing you on the top of your head. “sleep tight, princess. i love you.”

Amazing (Gwilym Lee x Reader)

745 words of gwil x reader; nothing but fluffity fluff i tell you.

(i imagine the reader having a science-y profession in this one. in my head she’s getting a phd in some science subject, but you i’ll leave the actual logistics up to you)

Date number six.

Gwilym had taken you to see his favourite play, and you’d brought him back to your apartment, just like the two dates before that. But unlike the other times, you simply drank wine from a single glass and cuddled, talking to each other about everything under the sun.

“You know the U2 song ‘Shadows and Tall Trees?’”

“Hm?” You hummed, drawing circles on the back of his palm, his arm slung over your shoulder as you rested your head on his chest.

“Bono got that name from a chapter of ‘Lord of the Flies.’”

You laughed, looking up at Gwil with a slightly astonished look on your face. “You’re so full of random facts.” You touched his nose with a light tap, causing him to scrunch it up with shut eyes, like an absolutely adorable fool.

“Now you tell me one.” Gwil mused, twirling a strand of your hair in his hand, the other balancing your wine glass on his thigh.

“What?”

“Give me a random fact. Something about science. Surprise me, little miss thing.”

You narrowed your eyes, running your fingers under your chin dramatically. “Did you know,” you began, turning your body so you could look a Gwil properly. “That women’s hearts beat faster than men’s?”

Gwil laughed. “Wow.”

“Yeah,” you whispered, snaking your hand under his shirt, which was more unbuttoned than not. “That is slower than,” you tapped the left side of his chest, proceeding to bring his hand to the left side of your chest, “That.”

Gwil had a fond look on his face. “Amazing,” he whispered back, his volume matching yours.

You giggled. “Is it amazing?”

“You’re amazing.” His hand left your chest, coming up to stroke your cheek. “You’re so amazing.” He pushed you onto his lap with a firm grip on your waist, pulling a little squeal out of you. “You are amazing, Y/N.” He was staring at you in disbelief.

You put your hands on his shoulders, steadying yourself. “You mentioned.” You could feel your cheeks heating up.

“No, you don’t get it.” Gwil held onto your arms with either hand. “You’re just… you never cease to amaze me.”

You leaned forward, trying to make your blush less obvious. You planted your lips on his, wrapping your arms around shoulders as his hands came to your waist. You pulled away after a quick moment. “As are you, Mister Lee.” You brushed your nose against his. “Absolutely amazing.”

Gwil shushed you, “Just let me talk about you,” getting you to giggle again. He pulled you away from him to look at you better. “I love you.”

Your eyes widened right in time with the speeding up of your heartbeat. That was the first time he had said that. But you could gauge from his expression that he meant it. He meant every word.

“I love you,” he reiterated, bringing both of his hands to cup your cheeks gently, “I knew from the day I saw you, Y/N. Watching you interact with that dog was all it took.” He said, talking about the day he first saw you in the dog park. You’d gone just to hang out with the animals, despite having any of your own. “I just…” His eyes had glassed over. He bit on his lower lip as he shut his eyes.

You brought your forehead to touch his, hearing his breathing loud and clear in your ears. When he opened his eyes again, he laughed, almost as if he was embarrassed. “I am in love. With you. And I know it’s a little soon — I mean, it is just our sixth date — and I understand that you don’t feel that way yet, but I ha—”

“Hey,” you cut him off, running your hands through the sides of his hair, “Who says I don’t feel that way yet, huh?” You questioned, tightening your grip on his hair. “I love you.” You whispered back, almost afraid as the words left you. “Like never before. You’re just so good to me. I’ve never been treated the way you treat me. Ever.”

“I feel like you’re lying to me about that, because have you met you?” Gwil joked, “But you said you love me too.”

You nod frantically, Gwil laughing happily. “I do. I love you, Gwilym Lee, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”

Gwil brushed his hands against your lower lip. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”

Hi, are you still doing the kiss prompts? If so, would you do One Small Kiss, Pulling Away For An Instant, Then Devouring Each Other with Gwil? (I forgot what number it is)

You were excited for Gwilym to come home. This was the first weekend he was getting off after a very long time, and you were determined to make it a good one. The food was ready, so was the music. You slid on your socks to the fridge, pulling out a bottle of wine. Filling up a single glass, you sipped lightly as you walked around the room aimlessly, awaiting Gwil’s arrival.

You twirled to The Beach Boys, not noticing when Gwil entered the house. He stood there watching you, legs crossed as he leaned in the doorway.

The moment you saw him, you stopped, walking over to him and wrapping your arms around his neck.

“Hello, sweetheart!” Gwil greeted, walking inside the house with you still in his arms. “Someone missed you.”

“It’s Friday,” you smiled happily, “And you have tomorrow off.”

Gwilym looked giddy with happiness too. “Don’t stop dancing on my account!” He laughed, pushing your body away to grab your hands. He danced with you, moving around the living room sloppily, as you both laughed with unbridled joy. You hadn’t had a moment like this with your boyfriend in a long time.

Gwil spun you around, your back pressed against his chest, hands held in his as you both swayed gently. “I’m ready to have an amazing weekend with you, my love.” He whispered in your ear.

You turned around in his arms, “I can’t wait.” You said suggestively, tenderly kissing him and pulling away just as quickly. You bore your eyes into Gwil’s seeing the passion teeming behind them.

Your lips were back on his in an instant, much more passionate this time. You pulled on his jacket, getting him impossibly close to you. Gwilym’s hands went to your back, slipping under your shirt. He groaned into your mouth as the kiss got more and more lewd. He walked you back till you were leaning on the wall, one of your legs climbing up one of his.

You slipped one of your hands into your hair, and tugging harshly. You knew what it did to him.

“Oh my god,” Gwil groaned into your mouth, one of his hands on the wall next to your head. “I love you so much, Y/N, it’s crazy.”

“I love you too,” You whispered.

You were looking at a good weekend.

I’ll Be There (Gwilym x Reader)

i’ve used a prompt by @mothermercuryy in this fic, “Can I come over? My parents are fighting again.” 

1.2K words, lot’s of fluff, a little angst, and gwil x reader as teenagers!

Sometimes you’d think that you were just a burden on Gwil. You’d call him quite often. A good three times a week. But Gwil never showed any signs of burden. He never looked fed up, tired of spending time with you. Ever.

Lately, you’d try to make it through the nights yourself, but it wasn’t as simple as you thought it’d be a couple of months ago. Today was a new low. You were pretty sure that you had heard the clanging of utensils on the floor. It terrified you, and you really didn’t want to spend any more time alone.

Slightly afraid, you called your best friend through speed dial, shaky breaths in and out.

Gwilym picked up almost immediately. “Y/N?” He said groggily.

“Gwilly? Were you asleep?” You hadn’t meant to wake him up.

“Yeah, but that’s alright. Are you alright?” Gwil said through a yawn, some shuffling heard from his side of the line.

You let out a shaky laugh. “Um, no?” You laughed once again, rubbing a hand over your eyes. “My parents are fighting again. Can I come over?” Honestly, you’d have been fine if he’d said no also. It was logical, since he was already asleep and it was 10 p.m. Hearing his voice itself did bring some comfort anyway.

“You don’t have to ask, Y/N.” He sounded a little more awake now. “I’m already on my way down.”

You smiled, biting down on your lower lip. “You’re the best,” you mumbled, getting a quick ‘Make it quick,’ in response before you hung up. You put on a sweater, tugging on your sneakers without doing up the laces. You didn’t even have to bother trying to sneak out, since your parents were too far into their argument to pay attention to anything else.

Pretty soon, Gwil was pulling you into a hug, rubbing a hand up and down your back.

This was your thing. Whenever you needed relief — or the other way round — you’d always call and you’d meet in Gwil’s house’s backyard. There was a large hammock and it was always pleasant weather. You and Gwil would spend some time until you were feeling better. Or you’d end up sleeping the night in the hammock. Gwilym’s arms around you always made you feel comforted. Safe.

Both of your parents thought you were dating since you spent so much time together. So let you carry on.

Did you secretly want to be dating Gwil for real?

Did you wish his arms around you were more than just a platonic gesture?

Gwil tugged on your arm, pulling you all the way back to the hammock, waiting for you to climb in before he did himself. He stretched out his left arm like he always did, waiting for you to put your neck on it. Frankly, this was more intimate than what people would consider normal. And you had a feeling even Gwil knew it. But he knew it always made you feel better. So you had a feeling he was keeping quiet for your sake.

Both of you generally had something to say. Some nonsensical banter. Discussing some book or movie. But today, you enjoyed the stillness of the night, simply existing in each other’s presence.

You turned your body toward’s Gwil’s. His eyes were closed. He looked peaceful. Serene, almost. You watched his face, taking in all of his sharp but delicate features. The sharp nose; the beginning of stubble; the soft, fuzzy hair; it was all so beautiful.

Gwil suddenly opened his eyes, laughing as he saw your eyes on him. “Admiring my face?”

“I was doing just that,” you said, feeling your ears turn warm, turning back to look at the sky. The night sky always fascinated you. It was so vast. Filled with so many undiscovered things. So many stars, and satellites and planets. It was a wonder.

“Are you thinking about the night sky?” Gwil asked, his voice quiet.

“Yeah.” You mumbled.

He scoffed playfully. “Typical.”

“Hey!” You chastised, hitting him lightly. The moment you hit him, your mind went back to your parents, and the clanging of utensils you had heard earlier today.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Gwil asked, unaware of the fright in your chest.

You thought for a moment, breathing deeply. “I’m scared.” Your voice was meek.

“What’s wrong, love?” Gwil turned his body to face yours — which is not easy to do in a hammock, worry written all over his features.

“My parents.” You said, not elaborating any further.

“Oh, Y/N,” Gwil cooed, running his hand up and down your arm gently.

“It’s going too far,” you felt a tear streak down the side of your face. “I heard the banging of utensils today. I think…” you trailed off, not wanting to say the words. Because if you said them, it would feel a little too real to deal with it. “I think my dad hit her, Gwil.”

“Oh, no,” Gwil said slowly, wrapping you in a hug, tight and close to his body. “Sweetie, let it all out.” He said, feeling you hold back.

You did just what he asked. You let it all out. Weeks and weeks of pent up anxiety and fright, weeks of worrying, all through sobs and heaves.

Gwil simply held you, letting you have your moment. After you’d managed to calm down a little, he whispered in your ear, “I promise you it’ll all work out in the end.”

You pushed against his chest, trying to move away. “What if it doesn’t? What if it never works out, Gwil?”

“Then it’s not the end. I promise. Trust me on that one.” Gwil pulled you back into a hug, your nose resting in the crook of his neck. “Remember when we first moved here? I was miserable. Cameron and Olly bullied me all the time. I didn’t even try making any friends. Remember that?” He asked.

You nodded, still in Gwil’s protective embrace.

“Remember when you came and sat down next to me on the pavement when you saw me crying?” He asked, continuing when you nodded again. “You told me that things would work out in the end.” Gwil sighed, sounding reminiscent. “You knew just what to say.”

“Just like you do,” you mumbled, looking up at him.

Gwil looked down fondly at you, speaking after a moment, “Things really will work out. And for as long as they don’t, I’ll be here.”

You gasped, “Only for as long as they don’t?”

Gwil opened his mouth, “Unfortunately, Miss Y/L/N, you’re stuck with me forever!”

You both laughed, enjoying each other’s company. You went back to staying quiet, feeling the continuous stroking of Gwil’s hand on your arm. Soon, you started to get sleepy. You yawned, curling back into Gwil’s side.

Just as you fell completely asleep, you felt Gwil press a kiss to the top of your head. “I will always be here, Y/N,” he whispered. “For as long as you need me.”

You smiled internally, not wanting to break the moment.

“I’ll always love you, Y/N.”
