My parents both came from mining villages. They were socialists; all my relatives were socialists; I was a socialist. I voted Labour for several decades, then began to realise that I and the Labour Party had changed. I voted for the Pirate Party; I voted for Tommy Robinson, but I could not bring myself to vote for the Conservatives.
Finally, yesterday, faced with a choice between them or a bunch of Communists running the country, I voted Tory.
This morning, I listened to Boris Johnson's victory speech, and it made me laugh, in a good way. Thank goodness we have a Prime Minister who is funny, and a soon-to-be-gone Leader of the Opposition who is beyond a joke,
