Hugh though changed out of his uniform and into casual wear before pulling out a PADD and waited.
Had he missed the date, it would not have been the first time, nor would it be likely to be the last, but contrary to what was likely popular belief, he did try. He tried, and he knew that if there was ever a day to try just that little bit harder, it would be today. So with the help of...a certain number of notifications, he managed to get himself out of the lab at something that could resemble a decent time.
He always tried. He tried very hard.
The doors slid open as he smoothed the front of his uniform, though he would change in a moment, once he got himself situated. He stepped in, offering a smile that he hoped wasn’t as uncertain as he felt. (He felt good, of course, happy to be home, anticipating the night they would spend together, but he didn’t know how long Hugh had been waiting.
“Am I...?” On time, too late?
