Eida

Okay so first, I’m gonna talk about the design. I like it; I think she’s pretty. My favorite color is blue, so I’m sure that has something to do with it ‘cause Eida’s hair is awesome, but I like her clothes, too. I mean, the shorts (?) could be a little longer and the heels don’t need to be so high, but other than that, I love the colors and the patterns. I’m in love with this character’s design.

I laughed so hard at this ‘cause damn, she got me! The power works on this side of the screen, too!

And she has another strong ability, too, perhaps even a bit too overpowered one. Still, I’m glad that for once the ridiculously overpowered shounen series character is a woman. Of course, it kind of dampens the mood that the conversation turns to her love worries, I highly doubt that would’ve been done with a male character, but overpowered is still overpowered... unless she gets killed quickly by Boruto or Kawaki, who are immune to her ability. And while I love good romance stories, I really hope that this overpowered woman isn’t defeated by having her fall for Kawaki or Boruto and switch sides because of it. This isn’t a romance manga, but it would be such a cliche way of treating a female character that I wouldn’t be too surprised if they did that.

This is just a wild guess on my part, but can we be completely sure that those are the only two types her ability won’t work on? I mean, how about artificially created humans, like Mitsuki? And even if she has tested her power on an artificially created human, like Kajin Koji, it might not necessarily work the same way for artificial humans created in a different way. Maybe Mitsuki could be a wild card here?

Another thing that caught my attention was the part about blood relatives. While it makes sense it won’t work on them, I think the fact will play some kind of part in the long run. Perhaps some character we already know is related to her? My number one guess is:

Maybe? It just came to my mind since he suddenly mentioned it. We don’t know when she was modified, but since Code didn’t know of her powers, I’d guess that it was before he and Kawaki joined. Perhaps her modifications got ready twelve years ago, but Jigen considered her to be too much of a threat and told Boro to get rid of her and while he didn’t, Amado thinks he did. That would also give him a reason to risk everything by betraying Jigen.

...I may be reading too much in to this, but before we know more, we can’t say for sure it isn’t like this. In any case, I think Eida has potential. If they do this right and don’t put too much weight on her being lovesick, she might become a very interesting character.
