I hate the Boruto manga and anime.

Haven't read or watched much of it, mostly seen scraps on Reddit and Pinterest and Narutopedia, but seeing them makes me never want to look at it.

I don't know what Ikemoto was thinking, but Boruto is so far removed that it feels like a different world entirely. It's seems more sci-fi that blatantly ripped off pieces and stories from the Naruto universe.

The whole thing feels like a knockoff, and it completely goes against every single established rule, treating chakra as if it's magic instead of a fundamental part of the body. Blatantly throwing around the Otsutsuki, creating useless dojutsus and bad alterations of established ones, using CYBORGS.

In my fanfic, the only references I use are the Naruto Gaiden with Sarada, Sasuke's Story, and the Naruto: Boruto Movie because those are the ones in which Kishimoto is personally involved and feel more real.

I was somewhat in agreement with people who said that Boruto was too hard on Naruto and I chalked it up to Boruto being a kid and being upset that that dad wasn't around most of the time even though Hokage duties were a thing until I saw the chapter that showed Naruto giving out the birthday cake for Boruto (?) only for it ti be shown that it was just his clone. Boruto's anger towards naruto suddenly seems justified.

There’s some justification in Boruto’s anger in regards to Naruto always working, and that feeding into his loneliness when his father can’t even spare the time to spend his birthday with him. 

An issue is just that, when combined with Boruto’s writing and the audience having seen Naruto work his ass off to get to his position, watching and getting attached to this character to the point that we were happy when he achieved it, it becomes an issue to connect with a new character who comes off as spoiled because of his far more happy childhood when compared to his father.

Not to say that Boruto shouldn’t or isn’t allowed to be angry, he most certainly is in that moment, but I also just don’t like him so why should I care?

if i had a penny for every ounce of hatred that burns my body and mind whenever i think about the boruto series, i would be the supreme ruler of the world, theyd have go keep printing more pennies to give me. I’d own entire landfills of nothing but pennies. the grand canyon exists no longer, there are only rage pennies. 

they have slaughtered my children, they have taken my hope, and they believe they can replace it with the filth from a gutter?

The whole is Sakura or Karin the real mom drama was poorly written and sounds unnecessary when Sarada can know that she has an absentee father and Sakura is her only active parent and still have angst over it, which can be written decently. I mean, Sasuke hooked up with Sakura so it's obvious who her mom is. :/ Sarada's feelings aren't exactly being handled well here. It should've focused on how Sasuke willingly left her life instead.

Pretty much, I don't understand why the story went for "Who is Sarada's real mother??? ;))))" and not "Dad, why did you fucking leave me?"

And it wasn't even that Sasuke was away from the village entirely all those years Sarada grew up without knowing him. He would regularly pop back in too report to Naruto on his findings, he just wouldn't bother going to visit his family before leaving again.

I love realising just how bad these characters are as parents.

And by love I mean hate with a burning passion.

I never got why all the kids in Boruto are the same age. Like WHY? They had to be born in the same year, all the girls just got pregnant together??

Synched up pregnancies, like the step up to synched mensies-

Sakura was at here too, you're right. Breaking things in front of your child in a fit of rage is a red flag and Sakura was so angry she destroyed their entire home with just one punch. No wonder Sarada questioned herself even more and got frightened. Like Sakura has no right to react like that when Sarada looks nothing like her, has an absentee dad and they've both left her in the dark instead of beinf honest.:/

That whole scene was really oof and didn't help Sakura's case in all of this.

If it was a moment where she's doing it out of frustration towards the situation Sasuke left her in, then it'd at least have something to it, but Sarada literally came to her with questions and was obviously upset over not understanding why her father wasn't in her life and who she was.

Sakura's temper being played up in the show and manga isn't funny anymore. It's just grating.

Is it me or did the girls who got married in Naruto Take a Level in Jerkass in Boruto? It's especially obvious Hinata, who couldn't even get angry with Neji in Part 1 despite how he treated her.

It's just another case of writers not being able to keep OG characters consistent in sequels.
