British Columbia Native Plant of the Day: Boschniakia hookeri Hardiness Zone: 7-9 Common names: poque; Vancouver groundcone A parasitic plant growing in moist forests wherever its host plant Salal (Gaultheria shallon) is found. Grows on the Queen Charlottes, Vancouver island, and in land along the south coast of British Columbia. Range continues down through Washington and Oregon and into Northern California.
