In 2014 Two townships in The Netherlands fused to become one. They combined the shields and flags of Boskoop and Alphen aan den Rijn in a new flag.

I was discussing my local flags and coats of arms with foreign friends and ended up googling this as well since there will be talks of my municipality (Kaag en Braassem) fusing with Alphen in the future. This is kinda scary lol. Great flag too. I actually prefer the newest version over both. They just seemed a bit basic originally.
