lets be honest.
So being 1000 miles away from the place I call home is hard enough. The fact that Boston has been going through some real shit is mind blowing. Let me just tell you that this whole ordeal has been surreal. People that I love and the city that I love was caught up in turmoil and heartbreak. Social media and the news have been on top of this shit from the start. Yet what it is that I cant seem to grasp is everyones take on the whole situation here in savannah. Or maybe just everyones way of processing everything. Its like I haven't been able to wrap my head around the situation fully yet, and everyone is making there conclusions already. FBI, CIA, Government corruption, conspiracy theories, Mental illness, ignorance, and wild accusations everyone is trying to point fingers. tragedy is a hard thing to cope with and trying to find someone to blame or some explanation is only natural. When it really comes down to it, what we need to do is stay strong and come together as a community, a country, and ultimately the world needs to reconcile with one another. What is it that we are fighting for? Why are we spreading hate by hurting numerous innocent people? I guess what it is that im saying is: whether its terrorist acts, government conspiracies, or unapologetic hate crimes, innocent people have died. Lives brought to an end or forever changed by the violent crimes of two men. We must honor the lives which were taken from the world to soon and unexpectedly. We must honor the men and women who made a point to bring these men to light, and rip them from their chaos driven path. I find it sickening that someone who is my age could bring such terror and fear to a city which thrives on good energy and love. but back to my point. Whatever the absolute truth is about the situation that unfolded this week, innocent people were ripped from this world and from their loved ones and we need to stop taking this situation like it was some lifetime movie. Every day evil and unjust acts are spewed into this world to test our strength and power. The power to come together as a community and pick each other up. I don't know any other city that comes together to love and support one another quite like Boston. So before you go off on how the government is putting these stories in the news to distract us and entertain us, or come up with ridiculous schemes of terrorism, lets give thanks to the people who tracked these fools down, the people who shut down the entire city of boston to assure the safety of the citizens. Let us give thanks that we can go to sleep knowing that our loved ones are safely tucked in there beds, and send our kindest and deepest thoughts to the people who have lost there loved ones. Let us be thankful that we live in a place that brings unimaginable acts of violence to justice in a respectable amount of time. To all the men and women who have given all they could possibly give in the time of crisis, we thank you. Please love one another. Acts of violence come from hate and neglect. All we ever want as humans is love and comfort. It is something everyone deserves. So please never take your life for granted and think about the decisions you make and how your actions effect the people around you.
