Botanical Inks x Bristol Weaving Mill
Made my own diy alcohol botanical inks. The red one is Hibiscus. I’ve filled half the jar with the dried petals and added Everclear. The blue one is Butterfly Pea Flower. I’ve put in a tea bag of the dried flowers and added Everclear as well. The rich pigment is from only one day and I periodically shook the jars a few times throughout the day.
Art time.
New spirit art painting of Vepar. I am extremely pleased with the results, as it was my first time painting with botanical inks (two of the colours I’ve made myself and one I got from another artist). I was at The Witches’ Night Market and when I saw these inks, I heard Vepar tell me, “Get the blue one, make a new painting of me :} ”. Sooo, I totally got it (also because I wanted to explore working with botanical inks). I decided to devote some more into this by making two of my own inks (Hibiscus and Butterfly Pea Flower). The efforts paid off. I will continue to explore making my own natural inks and developing new techniques. For now, I am so elated over this painting I did and so is he! I enjoy connecting with him by painting/drawing him (especially after having a dream session aka nightmares, to work through my fears), it is extremely rewarding.
