jasmine ⇢ do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?

ahh this is a sad one because it's very relevant lately, i reblogged a gifset earlier from the first live action adaptation of Kimi Ni Todoke and it's a film I love but the actor Miura Haruma (who I was and continue to be a tremendous fan of) passed away a couple years ago, and I can't bring myself to watch it. His death hit me hard and even though I love the film and franchise so much I can't bring myself to. The same is the case for all of Robin Williams and Brittney Murphy movies, it's really hard for me to watch something even if I want to.

chamomile ⇢ what kind of things do you like receiving as gifts?

i'm the kind of person who likes any gift when it's spontaneous. my friend gave me this little pie from the grocery store the other day and it made me cry a little, so I guess the spontaneous kind? My family's way of gift giving was always asking what the other person wants so the little things people get me without even asking just make me go uwu

From the Fic Writer Ask Game

💞what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language

Definitely the characters and relationships. I read and write about the blorbos because I absolutely love them and enjoy havin gthem interact and form bonds with friends or a romantic partner. But I also think a character's personal relationship with themself is also important. It's why I enjoy writing Adiren and Marinette a lot, because they are both messy people with their own (and very relatable) issues. They're having to grow up so fast because of the roles they've had to step up to meet, and with that thay're having to figuring out who they want to be. Marinette trying to figure out the hero and team leader she wants to be and allowing herself some compassion because her situation is hard. Adrien figuring out the kind of independant person her wants to be without his father's shadow over him, that he's allowed to make mistakes and be vocal about his wants and needs. I just love writing about the blorbos learning learning what they want for themselves.

🍭why did you start writing?

I think the first time I wrote anything I was around 6 or 7? So for why I started writing I think it's literally...just because I could? I read so much as a kid and loved playing imaginary games, so constantly having stories in my head was a natural progression of that I think. Not a day goes by now where I'm not thinking of one or other little narrative in my head.

For why I started writing fanfiction, it was pretty much a "I love these characters/this world so lets put the blorbos in a situation". Little Selkie just wanted to write about their Warrior Cats OCs so bad...

✅ What's something that appears in your fics over and over and over again, even if you don't mean to?

There was only one bed.

I'm a sucker for that trope and I will use it until I die. Apart from that and copius amounts of angst and hurt, I tend to lean a lot towards music and dancing. I like using music in an imagery sense, using musical tones to describe a scene or a person or interaction. As for dancing, I just like my blorbos doing a little waltz or some form of ballroom dancing once in a while.

🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?

Adrien. Hands down.

He's my comfort character and one I relate too most in the show. I like Marinette and Plagg a lot as well, but I always find myself in a better flow when writing Adrien's POV.

🎨 How do you feel about fan art of your stories?

I love it! People have done a few pieces in the past ofr my fics and I eat them up every time. Seriously, quickest way to make me cry is to draw fanart of my fics. I would give someone my firstborn child as thanks. Or a kiss on the head if that's what they prefer.

You already know you’re one of my fav fic writers. I love that you’re writing is so easy to read (like seriously love it, cause I never feel I’m wading through words or having to strain my concentration to follow what’s going on). but you still pack that emotional punch when needed and have some really lovely descriptions. It’s actually been cool to see how your writing has developed since I first got to know you. Like you were always a good writer but I feel like you’ve branched out more with how you use description etc

Of course my favourite thing is your humour. High quality stuff. I live for stupid shenanigans and you always deliver 😌

Oh actually that’s something else I appreciate about your writing. You balance drama with humor really well. Also you actually got me to read an established relationship soulmates fic, which is like so far from what I’m interested in hdgfgg. There were times when I was like “am I strong enough for this?” And yes apparently I was because i read the whole thing and really enjoyed it
