Next year will be 40 year's this Classic Downriver Mexican restaurant open. A TexMex delicious eating spot. We been customers 30 plus years first at Allen Road and Eureka location. Now just this location and granddaughter opened a take out only place on Fort in Southgate. Totally Wowed the special on Thursday Mexican Pizza only $7.99 will feed 2 hungry folks. A really fabulous Queso Fundidio loaded with house made Chorizo outstanding. I had the Chunky Beef Mexican Sandwich spot on Wonderful. She had a OMG fantastic Botona a real winner loaded with all the goodies. Last week visit another great meal, I had a Torta Mexican Sandwich filled with Steak n Chorizo Wonderful. A great deal only 8 bucks comes with Fries. I added the Chicken Tinga Hurrache, means the Sandel see the shape, Tinga is shredded Chicken. She ordered a Botona with nothing HOT, lady says oh I have them make Guacamole no hot and put on side. Lady you so FUNNY to understand she wants ZERO HEAT. So Botona came just look at Photo a dozen plus slices of JALAPENO. I call lady over tell her you real funny NOT. She said customers get upset when come with no Jalapeno and then stated they Pickled Jalapeno not HOT. Lady NOT funny no more just Dumb, I picked Jalapeno pcs off ate one and Burnt my Ass. Been a couple year's, no more Meat counter, they added BEER and more tables. Place packed with Happy Mexican family's at lunch time enjoying the authentic food from the homeland. Mega Deal three Tacos Lunch with rice and beans only $ 6.99 till 3 pm. I got fantastic Al Pastor Tacos Wonderful, she had a Double Steak Botona spot on. I also ordered a favorite dish only found a few places around town be Carne En Su Jugo. I was absolutely shocked by what they deliver to my table. NOT even close I've had this many times. Be a big bowl of Charro Beans filled with Onions, Peppers, Bacon n topped with Asada. They sent me plate of Steak Rice n Beans HELL NO you can't fool this Gringo. I asked what's up with this, waitress say she's always had way I describe in a bowl. I asked well do you have Charro Beans reply NO Charro Beans which are Whole Beans you know as Soup Beans. A exciting turn around, new owners brought this back to a top Mexican restaurant. New Mega Patio sitting on West Vernor, beautiful new paintings on the walls. And the menu now explosion of Authentic meals WOWED. Started with Chorizo n Cheese for dipping, Chunky Beef Botona absolutely Wonderful. Mexican Breakfast Chilaquitas a favorite of mine comes with Rice Beans n Tortillas marvelous Delicious. Mega Bowl for 2 the Molejeta filled with Chicken Steak Chorizo Cactus n Cheese Quesadilla absolutely mind blowing great OMG. Love the whole Bean's called Charro with Bacon n Onions Rice too. The owners now have 3 Mexican restaurant n 4 Taco Trucks, so exciting to watch them grow. Taco Tuesday Love the Al Pastor Tacos Wonderful with Grilled Onions n Jalapeno take a look. Mega Chunky Beef Botona one of the very best around town. Outstanding Shredded Chicken Enchiladas en Salsa Verde WOW a real winner. Unique only a couple places has this dish on the menu. Carne en su Jugo (Meat in its Juices)One of Guadalajara's favorites. Small pieces of flank steak are cooked in their juices, then mixed with whole beans and crispy crumbled bacon. It makes me feel at home!
