Oscar and Lando became parents! I'm so happy for them! They named their tamagochi son Bruce. I'm sure that when Lando saw his child on the ultrasound, that tiny little life, he had no doubts about keeping the baby. Little Bruce looks so much like Oscar!!

Sorry for bringing back the bottom/top discourse to your inbox but the anon who said you could notice a top!lando and bottom!oscar dynamic in mclaren debriefs and challenges made me watch a ton of their videos, recent and old… and i’m so confused right now bc lando is more bottom than ever in most of those videos 💀 i know it could be a stereotype thing or whatever but lando’s behavior just puts him in that category. absolutely hilarious post, and somehow also more insightful than it has any right to be.

i do have thoughts for why oscar and lando’s demeanors shift so distinctly in the company of conventionally attractive men, and i think there’s something to unpack there

oscar’s approach: keep it clean, keep it private, charm is for people you’ll see again in the paddock

lando’s approach: we’ll never see them again? perfect. let’s maximize the interaction. he doesn’t care if he comes off a little loose. banks on the fact that the big buff ones are often into small guys who can bend all ways.

and it’s not that oscar can’t flirt with dudes. his brain is wired differently. he’s an older sibling, which means he’s hyperaware of how he comes across. when he’s meeting guys for the first time, especially hulking, camera ready athletes, his priority isn’t making them think about him naked (unlike another papaya boy, ahem). it’s leaving the interaction having impressed them without looking like he tried too hard. he wants their respect before anything else. the first impression he’s chasing is level-headed competence.

lando is playing a different sport. his eyes are honest to a fault. they undress. they do that lil up n down elevator stare thing, and he’s fine letting the other guy know. he doesn’t mind if a joke lands a little vulgar, because vulgarity plants mental images, and he wants those mental images in circulation. his whole vibe is open, inviting, easy to imagine in 'questionable' scenarios.

lando’s not concerned with being proper, because he was never taught that desirability depends on composure.

and oscar kinda wants lando to look at all these superior male physiques and still know oscar’s got the grip on him.

so yeah, lando’s behaviour might scream bottom. but it’s the type of bottom that exists solely to bait the other guy into taking control. and oscar’s the kind of man who will politely shake a stranger’s hand, smile, and then spend the rest of the day proving to his teammate that no baseball player, football player, or 8 foot miami dolphin could do it better.

I wish i could enjoy top/vers lando. It would have been more enjoyable but noooo my brain has to reject it. avoid it like a fucking plague. And im afraid that now we're in the top lando phase in the fanbase which is just... Ughhhhhh idkkkkk gimme my bottom lando pleeeeekkk

I used to love switch!Landoscar with a stronger preference for top!Lando and bottom!Oscar but then I read your fics and it rewired my brain. Now I physically cannot consume any top!Lando content and I blame you for it 😭😭😭

i think the dynamic makes sense when you rlly look at who they are. lando fills space without trying. he’s used to holding attention, and he likes it. but under all that, he also really likes being cared for. he’s drawn to people who make decisions for him in a way that feels safe. someone who steadies him without taking the fun out of him.

oscar’s different. he’s someone who likes having a say, and more importantly, likes when people listen. there’s something deeply satisfying to him about taking control and seeing that control land. and not in a showy way (he’s not a tyrant) but in that very calm, matter of fact way that says ‘i know what i’m doing’

so when you put them together, the natural direction of power is actually kind of obvious. lando pushes at boundaries, but only to see if someone will hold them. and oscar likes holding them. wink wink

and of course this isn’t the end all be all of landoscar d/s discourse. it’s just the one i enjoy exploring most right now. i’m always open to flipping the switch when it makes sense.
