One of my favourite things about Hudson’s physical portrayal of Shane is the fact that, despite Hudson and Connor being almost the exact same height and build, I always think that Shane has that ‘shorter’ and ‘smaller’ presence than Ilya and it makes me go, yeah, you be that small bottom boy yearning for his big strong top. But then I watch their promo interviews and they’re like the exact same size of people and personality size and I’m like whatttttt?
But Hudson is a master of his craft and he makes Shane smaller by standing with his shoulders forward like he’s uncertain (very physical presentation of Shane’s internal state), when Ilya is near he constantly gazes and keep his eyes on Ilya’s lips, and even creating the opportunity for Connor to pull his chin up or Connor ducks down to reach his lips for kisses makes Ilya’s character seem so much bigger and Shane’s so much smaller.
And then the intentional use of frames when Shane is placed in a higher position during their scenes is just ugh, such *chef’s kiss* to illustrate the shift in dynamics in that moment
