Chapter 3 (NSFW in the attached link)
TW: Mentions of DADT/military homophobia. Explicit consensual sexual content.
Slider was leaning against the bike beside him, and every word he spoke seemed to echo in him like a pebble making a ripple on the still waters of a lake.
Maverick moved closer toward Slider. Slider didn’t say anything.
One step. Two steps. Bit by bit.
He touched Slider on the neck. A thumb slipped underneath the collar of his Henry, playing with the chain of his dog tags.
The night wasn’t anything special in particular, until Maverick kisses Slider in his driveway.
His lips taste of a faint flavor of gin and tonic, mixed with the hint of brisk air in California. The softness of Slider’s lips on Maverick’s leaves him with a burning desire to touch him, feel him, and claim him with every sense of his body.
Maverick caresses Slider’s arm, his head pounding from the overwhelming heat of feverish desire. He watches for any signs of discomfort on Slider’s face. The taller man simply nods and cups his cheeks. Maverick feels light stubble on Slider’s chin when he leans in. A new, yet tantalizing sensation, combined with the scent of woody cologne Slider is wearing.
Maverick feels his nerves shortcircuit when he finally tastes Slider. Their mouths meet and their tongues slowly interwind. Slider lets out a sigh in his mouth in between the kisses, and that is by far the hottest sound Maverick has ever listened to. A breathy sigh laced with something Slider–the sound of his dulcet tenor, and the mellow edge of his throaty groan–something Maverick has yearned for the whole night. He catches the musky scent of Slider’s perfume from his exposed neck and swears to himself he’s running his tongue on the flushed skin there once Slider lets go of his leash.
Maverick and Slider hit the downtown rock bar. Sexual tension arises, and Maverick discovers something about his more-than-platonic feelings about the taller man.
Alternatively: Slimav slow burn, with music and cooking. Featuring Iceman/Maverick/Slider friendship, some self-discovery, some mourning and heartbreak, lots of fluff, and a ton o' luv.
