A/N:
Now that that's over, I'M GONNA SPILL THE DRAMA!!
Alright, so as some of you already know my mom, my sister, my two ten year old siblings and I lived with this super nice old lady that has a ton of rescue pets. Everything about the situation was completely fine ( other than small things like the house was a little crowded, she drank from time to time even though she was on probation and the fact that my cats didn't get along with other cats so we had to keep them in our camper).
The first wave of problems came when a sudden cat illness started to spread around the neighborhood. We suspected it was parvovirus, and since that's a super difficult disease to deal with, there was no home remedies that we could do other than try to provide as much water as we could until the cats immune system fought the sickness off themselves.
Just a reminder, there was like six people living in the house with a butt load of pets, so money was very tight. Fortunately we scraped enough for food and necessities since the old lady had a disability check every month and my mom would go to food bank weekly. Around this time none of us could get food stamps because of Donald Trump taking away the money or whatever.
So needless to say, going out of town for a vet was off the table. A few street cats died, two of my kittens died and it was heart breaking.
The illness passed, but shortly came back after both of my female cats gave birth. They each had around six kittens so I had around four older cats and twelve kittens. Some died due to the female cats accidentally suffocating them during breast feeding so we were knocked down to six kittens in total.
That same parvo came around again, and we ended up losing a few more kittens. Around this time, one younger adult female cat had gotten out of the camper because my older sister had accidentally left the door open and when I tried to put her back in, my oldest female cat attacked her. My oldest female cat has always been super territorial and I think it was a redirected aggressive thing. She mistook my younger female cat for a stray and attacked her. They fought for a bit but we thankfully separated them from each other.
Regardless of the fact that they now recognized each other, they still had to be separated because they now held an aggression towards each other. We had to end up moving my eldest cat inside in a big dog kennel so that she couldn't attack any of the other cats. Around this time, she couldn't see the kittens, see the other cats, or go downstairs because she wasn't fond of dogs like the strays were. She was a very affectionate cat, so having to separate her from everything and put into a smaller space was heartbreaking. The cat that had been attacked had been hurt a little under her eye but other than that, everyone was ok. We tried multiple times to reintroduce them, even using the linger process. But no matter how close they seemed to getting along, they'd always end up trying to attack each other through the cages.
Then the next wave of issues came.
The old lady — I'm gonna call her Dawn since it's similar to her real name — Dawn's son had gotten arrested because his fiance had lied and told he cops that he had ran her over with his truck after a fight they had. We all knew it was a damn lie because he was a hopeless romantic and he treats that woman like she's his whole world. We literally saw their texts to each other and it was sad how forgiving and loving he was and how demanding and just downright rude she was to him.
She'd literally texts him stuff like — hey, come home right now and fuck me or else I'll go fuck the neighbor — or some shit like that. She was a total nutjob. The thing was, he was a business owner and had just started to get his life together. He owned a few casinos, bought a nice big house in an expensive neighborhood, had goats and chickens, a tortoise and three dogs of his own.
All of which was down the drain because of alleged attempted murder. Dawn didn't know what to do, especially since this was her son's life going down the drain. We had to take care of his house while he was put in jail and the fiance was in he hospital. He had cameras but they weren't on unfortunately, but her injuries were likely from jumping out of the truck in their parking lot when he was driving away from her hitting him.
We assumed that we could somehow save his house if we just decided to try and help with the bills and stuff so Dawn let my family temporarily move there. When we got there, someone had stolen the goats, likely friends of the fiance to sell them. We couldn't do much about that, so we just took care of the house as planned.
During this time, a friend of Dawn's and my mom's needed a plan to stay so we came with us — his name is Sam. Only issue is that I had to keep my cats in a bathroom the whole time because they didn't like dogs, Sam had two dogs of his own, and Dawn's son's had two of his dogs that were in heat. The eldest dog had been a rescue because she used to be a breeding dog and so she got super aggressive during her heats.
I lost one kitten at that house because it was the last one to have that parvo. It was unfortunate but regardless of how it broke my heart, there was many other things to be worried about.
We only stayed in that house for three days before we had to move back to Dawn's because the fiance had called the cops and trespassed us. We hadn't know she even owned the house as well but her name was on the house and even though she never laid any bills and everything was bought and belonged to Dawn's son, she still had the authority to have us kicked out.
We moved back to Dawn's, I had to move my eldest cat back into the kennel upstairs in the attic and Sam moved in the house as well. So now we had seven people living at the house, a caged cat, a house to clear out, and on top of that, all the cats were starting together sick again.
We ended up taking Dawn's son's dogs back to Dawn's, and we had to pay some guy to build a huge dog kennel for them because since they were in heat, they would probably try to fight Dawn's dogs and they all had to be separated at least by a wire fence or else they might hurt each other. We couldn't find any rescue centers willing to take them so we had to keep them. Thankfully, Dawn's son had a daughter who was willing to take the puppy, so there's that.
Then, the big boss wave of doom hit us.
My mom's current fiance had an ex (who isn't even an ex really, since they had only hooked up once but she claims it was a relationship) had gotten evicted from her apartment with her fourteen year old son. Her name is Hope, and let's call her son KB.
Now my mom remembered hope from back in the day when my biological dad used to sell drugs and hangout with tweakers and shit. Hope was bad news, and always fucked people over.
Unfortunately, Dawn is such a nice old lady and she let them stay for a bit. She didn't really give them permission to move in, but they did anyway. They had brought their clothes and shit and moved themselves into her shed without really asking.
At first, Hope was super nice. She was still able to have food stamps, so she spoiled us all by buying junk food and candy. Her son obviously had ADHD or something, because although young, he was WAY too impulsive. Instead of getting him Adderall or something ( since she supposedly didn't want him "hooked on pills"), her solution was giving him weed. Illegally. We didn't care too much because smoking weed at that age in my town was sadly normal, and we decided to mind our own business.
During the time Hope and her son lived with us, she didn't clean much, her son trashed the place, she hot the animals when they didn't want to be let by her and she blamed stuff on me and my sister. Now for context, me and my older sister have no job. Were seventh and eight grade drop outs because we couldn't afford school and my mom needed to buy us birth certificates because our old ones were stolen. We couldn't get a job because we had no car to get into town and we had no ID to get a job.
So me and my sister pulled our weight by cleaning up the house for hours on end, taking care of the animals, feeding the strays, cooking, hanging up the laundry, all that shit. None of the adults were home most of the day because my mom had to go to California for her fiance because he'd just gotten out of jail for leaving the county without permission from his parole officer.
So since my mom and her fiance Boe were in California, Sam was working all the time, and Dawn was dealing with law stuff, my sister and I were stuck home schooling my ten years old brother and sister and taking care of the house.
Hope, to say the least, was a tweaker to the full extent. She didn't do much around the house, and when she DID happen to clean, it was with this weird Shark mop steamer thing. If you guys don't know how tweakers act, they sometimes gets these sudden bursts of motivation to do something weird like mess with electronics, eat a bunch of food, or in her case: clean.
She would drink endless cups of coffee, flood the coffee machine, and then bitch and complain, implying that me and my sister didn't do shit. The irony was that she always caught me and my sister whenever we were taking a break, so it did look like we sat around all day and watched Tv.
But her son had seen us clean. We'd FORCED him to help us, because all he did was make bombs and smoke weed.
Around the first two weeks, it was clear that nothing was going to work out. Although Dawn smoked weed and drank, and even gambles at the casino from time to time for a brief stress relief, Hope encouraged her to do it more and more and more. To the point that she was just taking advantage of Dawn, manipulating her, and using her.
Hope would feed Dawn lies, encourage her to drive in her newly bought vehicle and drink despite the fact that Dawn already was already on parole for a DUI, and just spend all the money on cigarettes, casinos, and junk food that wasn't needed.
During this time, KB would get in constant fights with my sister. He was an immature, annoying, infuriating kid and even though he was only fourteen and had a had life because of his mother, he knew what he was doing. He knew he pushed buttons and continued to do so.
Hope complained about her son not listening to her and cussing her out all the time, but when we actually tried to tell on him to Dawn for things he'd done, Hope would get all defensive and lie for him. It just didn't make sense.
All when this was happening, a few of Dawn's cats got sick and one ended up dying. She was so busy with court stuff and important stuff and she was never home because of it. So I would take care of her sick cats by syringe feeding them water and medicine every hour for DAYS. I would have to find canned chicken and pumpkin because solid foods just wouldn't be eaten. She loved those animals dearly and she had no time to take care of them, so I did it for her.
The cat ended up surviving thankfully, and he was so clingy to me because of it as well as the other animals because I was the only one taking care of the animals while my sister cleaned nonstop. For context, Dawn had five elder dogs, a big litter of months old kittens, six adult cats that went outside every now and then, the two dogs in heat in the kennel that belonged to her son, Sam's two dogs (one of them being an untrained puppy), Dawn's son's tortoise, Dawn's bird, and my own cats. All of that rounded to about thirty-two animals to take care of, not including the strays, so I already had my hands full.
Hope and her son had their shenanigans that had only gotten worse, but I had other things to worry about when my female cat got sick. She was the one that had gotten attacked by my eldest female cat and the scratch from under her eye had been infected. It had grown into an abscess thing, that I was thankfully able to drain on my own, but had left her with an upper respiratory infection, meaning it messed up her breathing.
I had medicine to strengthen cat immune system, but I was too late to realize and she was badly sick. She was still breast feeding at this time so I'm pretty sure she'd gotten parvo as a secondary infection, and her milk or close proximity with the kittens had gotten them all sick.
My sister's male cat had gotten sick from her too, badly, and we ended up moving all of the cats out of the camper and putting them into big dog kennels outside to get some fresh air. Only my eldest male cat was not sick, but I didn't want to take any chances so I deep cleaned that camper and fed him medication when he looked dehydrated.
In a span of three days, I ended up losing my second eldest female cat, all of the kittens, and my sisters male cat. They adults had both only been less than three years young, and me and my sister cried for hours and hours. Fortunately the lots of attention and care I had given to all of them wasn't totally in vain because I was able to save just one kitten.
I gave him a bath, put him with his mother, and thankfully, oh so thankfully, I was able to take my eldest cat named Kitty from out of the attic and move her back into the camper. I was so greatful that she showed no aggression towards my last living male cat nor the kitten, and she was able to move around. She had zoomies for days and I wasn't even annoyed that she would wake me up in the middle of the night with her noise because I was so happy that she was happy. My eldest cat Sammy stuck to her for days, as well as the kitten, that I let my sister name him since he was the kitten of her own male cat that had passed away. She ended up naming him Beep because she said he just looked like a beep, lol.
So now my cat group bad drastically cut down to three, but I was just greatful that they were able to survive the virus.
But my happiness never stayed for very long, because not too later, Hope and her son's bullshit had just been building and building and now it felt like me and my sister weren't even welcome in the house anymore. Trying to befriend KB and show him how to be a genuine person was useless because although he understood what he said, his views were so far from what they should be because his role model was a wannabe rapper that sold dope.
His name is Travis. Travis is a friend of Hope, and he had helped them out a few times when they were in tough situations. Travis is also like a nephew to Dawn, they're like family. But KB had told Travis that me and my sister were bullying him and so now Travis treated us like we were strangers. Travis used to be cool and buy me and my sister flowers just because he wanted to be nice, but now he just... distanced because he was being fed lies. Just like Dawn was.
Nobody saw the things Hope and KB were doing, except Sam. Sam had a bad past with Hope, but he was willing to put it behind him because he didn't want KB on the streets with his mom. But he saw it all. He tried to encourage us to keep quiet about t, it just deal with it even though it even made him angry, but only because it wasn't our house, it was Dawn's, and she already had a lot on her plate. But my sister couldn't stay quiet no matter how hard she tried, and she had a fight with KB.
We pretty much just swept everything under the rug and existed around each other and got along but we pretty much all hated each other. And it wasn't like we could talk it out, because me and my sister choke up at confrontation due to past childhood trauma with our real dad. So we just dealt with it.
Then finally, the final wave was when Dawn's second son came out of rehab and since he had no place to go, came to her house.
Great. A fetenyl user in the house. How peachy.
Except he wasn't a problem for me and my sister because first thing in the morning, our camper is being knocked on my CPS.
Yeah, I wonder who fucking called. Totally a mystery.
Anyways, as sad as it, my sister was good with dealing with cops and shit, so she was able to get them to go away. Supposedly someone had called for the twins (our ten year old sister and brother) and said they hadn't been in school. Which they weren't, but I had been home schooling them. The social workers had used their names as well, so it was obvious that someone we knew had called CPS on us.
My sister immediately went to the house after CPS left, shouting at all the adults in the house and demanding who called. None of them knew and tried to calm her down. She called my mom in California and my mom was on her way back home to pick us up.
We had been anticipating on moving to California but not like this, not so soon.
Sam was busy with his car he was working on but he did his best to comfort us and calm us down. And while my sister and I were stressing on what to do, Hope, Dawn, and Dawn fet addicted son were having the munchies after taking some of her son's "good weed from reno". Me and my sister were pretty sure it was laced with fetenyl without Dawn's knowing.
Usually weed made them all dopey and lazy, not super hyper and loud. In a span of five house, they were high as fuck, me and my sister were trying to pack our things, and hope had let Dawn's son's dogs out to roam the yard, and they ended up nearly killing a kitten because those dogs have never been around cats before.
And guess who had to be the one to save that kitten from two fully grown pit bulls? Fucking me and Sam. Because everyone else was high and Hope had irresponsibility let the dogs out without checking if all the kittens were inside.
That night, I made dinner since the adults were all passed out. Clearly from drugs. Around dinnertime, cops came for a wellness check on my younger siblings and y'know what Hope said? She said — "there's a shit load of cops outside, get down!"
...
Are you fucking kidding me?
So since my older sister is the only FUNCTIONING unstupid adult (just newly twenty, BTW) she had to be the one to talk to the cops (only TWO of them, not a shit load), while Hope lingered, while Dawn had to call her parole officer to let her know what's up, while Dawn's son hid in the backroom because he had a warrant, and unfortunatly, Sam was at work.
They did a check on my siblings, said everything was fine and it wouldn't be an issue, and then they left.
That night when everyone was asleep, we left to California without saying goodbye. We had to leave our camper and our cats behind because we had no space but we left lots of food and lots of water. We planned to come back the next day anyway.
Skip to us being in California, these really nice people help us with a living situation since we didn't have time to buy a house yet, they fed us, had NO DRAMA, and they were just the nicest people ever, I can't even exaggerate.
My mom and Bo were working for them tho, so they were super busy cutting fire wood here and selling it for money to help pay them back and feed ourselves because we didn't want to mooch off of them.
We ended up saying a few weeks longer than planned because the car was messed up and it took a lot of money for gas since the trip was ten hours to Dawn's house and back.
We'd asked Dawn and Sam to take care of our cats though, and to please not touch anything in the camper or let anyone else in. They'd happily done so for a few weeks.
I was so relieved that my cats were being taken care of while we were away, preparing our newer and way bigger RV that is as big as a real house when it extends...
And then Dawn got arrested for another DUI for an errand that Hope wanted her to do.
And then Dawn's son got arrested for "assaulting KB" or something like that.
And then Saw was kicked off the property for "stealing car parts from Travis's car".
And since nobody was there to take care of our cats, we had no choice but to use all food money on gas. And when my mom and Boe got there to pickup my cats? Hope kicked them off the property.
Someone had ransacked our camper (likely Hope) left a window open, and the older cats had gotten out. On the streets. The kitten Beep was left behind and thankfully my mom was able to grab him before they were kicked off.
I was so fucking sad to get that phone call. I had been missing my cats, anticipating them finally coming home to a bigger, cleaner, and nicer place than they're ever been to before. Only to hear that they weren't coming home.
I know that Kitty could survive. She used to be a street cat before my oldest male cat went missing a few years ago, so I had stopped letting her outside but she used to be an indoor and outdoor cat. But my Sammy isn't the smartest cat. He's a literal scardy cat. But I know he sticks to her like glue, so if she survives, then he will too.
Beep came home, and he had showed signs of his lingering sickness and lack of thirst but I used the rest of the meds I had and he'd gotten better.
A month had passed and Dawn had just recently been let out of jail. She seemed to have gotten her shit together, because she finally realized how shitty Hope was.
Dawn had texted us, and told us that nobody, not even Hope had contacted her at all during her jail time. Dawn came back to all of her animals skinny and starved, two kittens had been killed by the kennel dogs because Hope had let them out again, Hope had used all of Dawn's disability money, KB had destroyed many many antiques that Dawn owned and smashed them all, he'd also cut down one of her trees for some reason and they had somehow smoked the entire two huge marijuana plants that Dawn planted for her disability pain. Hope had stolen our clothes from our camper and even some of Dawn's. And lastly, Hope had tried to blame it all on us. Even though were literally in California.
All in a month.
Dawn called CPS on Hope, is now pressing charges for all the stolen money, and is completely sober from alcohol and weed. She hasn't seen my cats but she apologized for everything and promised to put food and water outside just as she always has and keep an eye out for them.
Today, I don't know if my two adult cats are okay, or where they are. But Beep had gotten bigger and very healthy. We're currently still situating our living situation and still money tight, but I'm trying to be positive about everything and just pray that things will work out soon.
Thank you for reading this far, none of you had to read any of this but I just wanted to let you all know why I've been so absent on social media.
Bless you all, and I'm thankful for all the support you guys have given me so far!!

Guys, I'm so sorry for being so absent. My cat just died and her whole litter is sick and one of them died too and they're all fucking sick and have lockjaw, and I can't afford a vet so I'm over here syringe feeding them and on top of that there's so much personal stuff going on and I'm so freaking poor and I'm not old enough for a job!!
But, I have found time in-between cry sessions or whatever so please enjoy the one shot.
I apologize if it's not as put together like usual, I tried my best with what I got right now.
