Killing time from my flight cancellation with a couple chocolate porters.
Boulder Beer’s Due East New England IPA (Picked up at Windmill Farms). A 3 of 4. Smells of floral notes and some light tropical and citrus fruit. Not as hazy as you might expect, given the style, but delivers some nice fruity sweetness in the body alongside a decently complex hop profile. Finishes clean and balanced with a slight lingering sweetness. By no means my favorite in the style, but this is fine.

Wild Woods Brewery; Boulder, CO: Treeline IPA
6.7% ABV 65 IBU
Cruising around Boulder, we opted to drive past the mega-craft breweries and stop in at this little taproom run by fellow Midwestern transplants. The vibe was friendly and warm (figuratively as well as literally, with nowhere to hide from the sun). My IPA was a tasty, nicely bitter blend of C hops, with an almost creamy rather than crisp mouthfeel. I can’t say I noticed the juniper berries in the flavor, but then my allergies are wreaking havoc on my efforts to develop a more distinguished palette. On the whole, a nice little place i’ll have to try again when I can breathe a little better!
