I read Dana's post about how we tend to keep our noses in technology, and it's very true. We are the generation of instant gratification. It needs to load faster, it needs to grab our attention and hold it there. If it doesn't, it needs an upgrade.
Our attention span has lowered drastically because of this. And it's sad to think that one would get bored with the surrounding environment within five minutes. The sound of clicking heels on the side walk, the smell of seasons, the feeling of wind against our skin, the taste of the air, all of these vital details are gone within seconds because of our need to be distracted. We are losing that experience in the raw, the want to know more about our surroundings because we've been blinded by the light of our phones.
I'm not saying that technology is a bad thing, certainly not! I love my phone and I love my laptop, and I know that I'm guilty of becoming bored within minutes. As Dana pointed out, it's nice to take breather and just watch our environment. We are meant to interact with it than to just know of its existence.
