          Okay! This was weird, right? Her girlfriend’s secretary had just offered to rub her aching shoulders in order to help her relax? Yeah, this was DEFINITELY WEIRD! “I mean...” For once in her life, Xiangling was at a loss for words. It wasn’t that she didn’t APPRECIATE the gesture. In fact a backrub sounded really, really, really, reeeeally nice right about now! & It wasn’t like she could ask Ningguang to do something like that! (Or could she? She was still testing those LIMITS). Ganyu & her had become closer over the last few months. Lonely thing had started coming into the restaurant more often. When she did, the chef always brought her the TASTIEST vegetarian meals she could muster! (Wasn’t really HER thing, but she tried!) --- They’d talked more & more & more in the Tianquan’s stubborn absence. & Xiangling really LIKED the girl!  “Ngh.” Pang in her neck had a gloved hand reaching for it --- No matter how much she kneaded at the knots, they just wouldn’t go away! “Dad had me work a double shift at Wanmin the last few nights and I guess I AM kinda achy.”

          Xiangling just loooooved the Holidays! All the cute decorations & costumes & ceremonies & traditions & OF COURSE THE FOOD!!! Didn’t really matter to her which Holiday! She loved ‘em all! Though, she DID have a heavy preference towards any & all that allowed her to whip up a celebratory feast! Like Christmas in Mondstadt! It may go against Rex Lapis & Liyue customs, but she couldn’t deny; IT WAS FUN! So long as her dad didn’t find out, it would be fiiiiiiiine! (Besides half the thrill came from going against her father’s strict & unforgiving rules). In her mad dash to the kitchen, Xiangling had TOTALLY FORGOT about the mistletoe hanging over the door --- Amber was drunk & rambling on about wanting more food & how good it tasted! Which EXCITED the eccentric chef & urged her to wanna make more & more & more!!! (As if she needed encouragement for that!) Outrider trailed closely behind & now here they were. Stood beneath that poisonous little plant. (She’d found out it was toxic the HARD WAY --- Involved stew & a whole lotta stomach cramps). “Would’ja look at that! Hee! Hee!” While it might have made others uncomfortable, Xiangling simply took this as AN OPPORTUNITY to try something NEW & EXHILARATING! “We don’t actually do this kinda thing in Liyue! I’m s’posed ta kiss you, right?” Before waiting for permission, she grabbed at Amber’s cheeks (With more force than necessary) & pushed up on her toes, SMASHING lips together with little tact or experience.

          “Right on time! This is what I LOVE about you!” So consumed in her own EXCITEMENT, the bubbly & irreverent chef hadn’t even thought to consider what her words & actions might imply. (For both the delivery-man & the onlooking Tianquan) --- Bouncing wildly from one foot to the other, itty-bitty brunette SWIFTLY SNATCHED the box of fresh ingredients out of his hands. Plopping it down on the counter & rummaging through the contents --- “Ooh! You even brought me extra Crab Roe! You really are THE. BESTEST!” Getting the Mora dad had given her to pay the guy, Xiangling handed it over before throwing herself at the poor fella --- Wrapping him up in A GREAT BIG HUG! “See ya next time!” With that, he awkwardly pulled away & left.

                              “Huuuh!? You haven’t been hugged in YEEEARS!?” 

          Golden eyes shot wider than the biggest, JUICIEST, Pyro slime---‘Mmm... I should whip up some Pyro slimes seasoned with garlic and---Not now, Xiang! Pay attention! This is important!’ --- Took every ounce of self-control that the excitable chef possessed in order to tame her mind & refocus on Ningguang’s admission. (Why was the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing telling something THIS personal to someone as INSIGNIFICANT as her?) --- “You gotta be kidding me!” Irreverent to a fault. Xiangling had a difficult time empathizing with others --- It wasn’t that she didn’t care. More-so, that she didn’t know HOW. Most people were born with a...Social censor of sorts. & If they weren’t born with it, they were forced by society to LEARN IT. This helped with recognizing when someone was saaaaaaaaaaaaaay. . . . . UNCOMFORTABLE. Yeah, she didn’t have one of those censor-thingies! “Don’t ’cha have like hundreds of people trying to woo you daily!? How can you NOT have been hugged!?” There were numerous rumors around Liyue about the woman & the COMPANY she kept --- “Well, no reason ta be sad about it! Lemme fix that right up for ya!” Before she even had the opportunity to mentally process what she was doing, (& More importantly who she was doing it to), the brunette was RECKLESSLY TOSSING HERSELF at the other & tangling spindly limbs around her neck. All but hanging off her like a paper lantern. Face impossibly close to that voluptuous chest --- “Hee! Hee! Hee! How's that!?"

          "Space?” Dissatisfied huff & a roll of pale emeralds --- “There are plenty of things in Teyvat that I require. Space hardly even makes the list.” Although, Mona VALUED HER SOLITUDE, it did little to aid her current. . . PREDICAMENT. With another huff, the STARVED brunette was falling to knobby knees --- Hands trembling & tears prickling at long lashes while she gathered the decimated remains of her precious, Celestial Globe. Her astrological investment. . .SHATTERED. “This cost me three-hundred-thousand Mora.” She’d prioritized purchasing it over paying both her equipment repair bill & rent. & In the blink of an eye, IT WAS GONE. “I spent my last remaining Mora on it...Now I am LIKELY to lose my home.” She should have managed her finances better --- Hydromancer always STRUGGLED with that.

          “You really like my. . .” BLINK. BLINK. BLINK. “. . .Eyes?” Once articulate Astrologer had pathetically transformed into A BUMBLING MESS. “I...Uhhh…” Brows dented & emeralds danced with overt confusion. She had half a mind to cast her gaze away from Aerith’s --- If only to cease her SCRUTINY. (Did it truly constitute scrutiny when someone was complimenting something?) --- “AHEM!” Cough to clear both her throat & her mind. She needed to snap out of this daze. Lest she risk being compared to those flustered, CONCUPISCENT boys, Mona herself had often RIDICULED. Today was one of those days that she wished Astrologers were permitted to foretell their own fate. Perhaps she could have avoided this ODD FLOWER GIRL (& her adulation) altogether? “You shouldn’t say things like that” Pause & a flip of her hair as she finally broke eye-contact --- Turning away to hide the BLOSSOMING BLUSH. “Besides, I would much prefer to be praised for my exceptional skill in the art of Astrology. I’ll have you know, I have succeeded my master. That is far more impressive than. . .My eyes. Wouldn’t you agree?”
