First Saturday Session

Yesterday was my first time volunteering with Upward Bound. I am very content with the end results of my volunteer work. They had a variety of amazing speakers that provided insightful information to the perspective college students that I am sure will provide valuable when it comes time for them to begin the college process. They learnt skills that will help them apply for college, get financial aid, study when in college, research for their classes, and so many more things that are essential to their education growth. I was very excited that I got to be a part of it. I got to interact with the students who were there, meet new people, encourage them to purse an education past high school, and more importantly, I think that I learnt a few new things myself!
