Okay, I haven't done this in a while...well, just because I haven't found any exciting brews here in NYC in a while. But step in this amazing little limited release ale for Kansas City, Missouri. The brewery is Boulevard Brewing. The beer is a Bourbon Barrel Quad Ale aged in Bourbon barrels with cherries. Wowzer! This shit is amazing! Deep rich amber color, with definite red undertones from the cherries. The flavor is sweet, fruit notes, but also a rich caramel flavor...very interesting combo of flavors. The bourbon flavor is definitely there, with a touch of smoke. This stuff has an amazing flavor with a nice kick too at 11.8% alcohol...so not for the feint of heart. Now I am going to enjoy it with a nice ribeye...may even make a cream reduction with some of this yummy ale... #boulevardbrewing #bourbonbarrelale #ale #beer #craftbeer
