Buffalo Trace Bourbon adds rich flavors to this tasty take on the classic patty melt. Great for people who like bourbon and sandwiches alike!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/4 cup Buffalo Trace Bourbon. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 4 slices Swiss cheese. 8 slices rye bread. 4 tbsp butter. Salt and pepper to taste. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 2 tbsp Dijon mustard. 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
Instructions: Put ground beef, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Make patties out of the beef mix. Set the pan on medium heat and cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until they are done the way you like them. Take the patties out of the pan and set them aside. Put the sliced onions in the same pan and cook them until they turn caramelized. On the other hand, put butter on one side of each piece of bread. A small bowl with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce should be used to mix them. Spread the mayonnaise mix on the side of 4 bread slices that hasn't been buttered. Put a cooked patty, caramelized onions, and a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each slice. Place the rest of the bread slices on top, buttered side facing down. Put the sandwiches back in the pan and cook for about two to three minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts. Make diagonal cuts in the sandwiches and serve them hot.
