This is a photo of the intersection of Flinders and Swanston yesterday (the 19th/day before) and I just want to reach out to those who have been injured, effected, or know those who have been killed. Melbourne won’t seem the same for a while. I hope we can get back to the love and joy Melbourne gives to so many as a community.

Those who know me, know that I love Melbourne. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in Australia, which is why today’s events have made me so sad. I thankfully wasn’t in the CBD at the time. For those who don’t know some lunatic started driving erratically at on the intersection of Flinders and Swanston (one of my favorite places) and then proceeded to drive down Swanston, turn onto Bourke and start targeting pedestrians. I can’t believe that this has happened in a place that I feel so safe at and love so much.

+ A tragic day in Melbourne’s history. The city I love today has lost its innocence.

Many awful images from today’s tragedy have been blazed across all news outlets. None more confronting than one of a pram on the car that will stay with me.

My heart goes out to the victims of this horrific attack and everyone impacted by this tragedy. I offer my deepest sympathy to those today that lost a loved one.

Thank you to all the emergency services, supported by strangers that came to the aid of injured people today, you optimise the Melbourne spirit. Legends, every single one of you.

In recent times our collective community have been subjected to rampaging Apex gangs, “fake” homeless people accosting people, youths rioting at juvenile centres and now a lone individual, with a history of violence, has terrorized the innocent.

We must stop the cycle of violence inflicted upon our great city. No more talk. Time for action. We need to re-claim our streets from this growing scourge on our much vaunted “world’s most liveable city”. Our justice system is broken. Zero tolerance against crime is now required. The Andrew’s Government and all agencies need to act. And act now.

My thoughts and prayers remain for the victims and their friends and families.

Child among four dead after 'evil criminal act' in Melbourne

Four people, including a young child, are killed and more than 20 others injured after a man deliberately drives into pedestrians in Melbourne's CBD.

This hits too close to home.
