did you know that if you want to signify simultaneous inclusion of asexual people in general and aromantic people in general, you should use the flag for asexual people in general side-by-side with the flag for aromantic people in general? because the purple ace flag represents all aces, and the green aro flag represents all aros. the blue/orange aroace flag is great, but it represents aroaces, not everyone who is aro or ace. (and hell, even some aroaces like me prefer the individual aro and ace flags more, whether because we see our aro and ace identities as distinct, or because we just prefer green and purple.) if you're creating a space meant for aros and aces, if you're making a post about aro characters and ace characters, you need to include more than the aroace flag — you need the aro flag and ace flag individually. you can certainly throw in the aroace flag, because it serves a wonderful purpose for the aroaces who choose to use it, but you should include aroallo and alloace flags too. the aroace flag doesn't represent all aros and aces automatically.

So I guess I'm now looking for work or trying to decide if I want to study. Kidney bullshit has made me unreliable for regular work and my last major client has moved to a more reliable support worker, which is the right choice for them- I don't blame them at all.

I can now either try and get a new main client, try and find a different job completely, or start study to try and move towards my goal of becoming a counsellor.

My body has been failing for a while and I've known for ages that I need to move on to another career, and my plans for this year were to start studying. But then we got unexpected foster kiddo, so that sort of put everything on hold while we try and stabilise him.

No idea what is the right choice. Genuinely got no idea. Each has it's merits and drawbacks. Each has its risks.

On Saturday I said to my partner, as I have said for months, "A ten thousand dollar a year raise would solve so many of my problems."

As of this morning I was reluctantly looking for jobs because I love my job and don't want to leave it, but see: $10k raise problem solver.

As of noon today this was no longer an issue, because my boss called me with the news that I was getting a $10K merit raise.

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This is roughly $200 extra per paycheck. Enough to pay off debt faster, rebuild my savings, and spend a weekend a month in Milwaukee getting obscenely laid. The sex I'm going to have on $200 extra per paycheck. You can't even.

May all of you get the $10K raise your soul has yearned for. And whatever level of sex you can be satisfied with for $200.

Why can't I make myself do things I want to do when I have time to do them.

Things that I have the energy for and are enjoyable and I could literally start right now. There is nothing stopping me but I am so overwhelmed by... Something. Something close to dread that says I can't. It's not the right time. Something terrible will happen if I do.
