I’m at UNT and working with the professor here, and he’s helping me fix my bow grip. I’m currently able to hold the bow on the string without any tension in my hand, but the moment I try to move it, my thumb clamps down. Anyone have any tips?

Fuck yeah! After a few weeks of practicing my upright bass with a bow and a lot of pain in my wrist and dealing with people trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.... Turns out the answer? A German bow suits my grip perfect. Two minutes with a French grip and i have to stop cause of the pain. An hour later with a German grip and I'm still fine and pain free. Hellz yeah!
