This fun size bass measured about 11". I was testing a new pattern this morning and it hammered it. For a small bass it pulled fairly hard and even took me into some weeds. Glad I had a 12lb mono leader. New fly pattern and colors coming to ebay and etsy this week. Size 6 topwater. Casts like a dream with a 5wt rod.
Fished Arc park on 11-8-23. Weather was mid 80s and partly cloudy with light breezes. The fish were active a bit on the surface. Bass were occasionally rolling. I cast a size 8 orange morphing mighty micro to a nearby roll and hooked up on the first cast. I had a 6lb test leader and I didn't want to break it off. I lost the fish due to playing it poorly. My rod tip should have been lower to the water or maybe tried to point it at the bass when it jumped. It threw the fly. At least I didn't lose one of my favorites. The bass was a good fun size. It was probably a little over 2lbs. The top two fish were caught on a new fly I am working on. The tail has feathers and silly legs. The bottom blue gill was caught on a small black and purple clouser.

On 9-6-23 I fished my favorite spot at Arc park in the evening. From 7pm till dark I caught four. Three Bass and one Red Eared Sunfish. I used my 3wt rod. The bass were caught on an orange size eight Morphin Mighty Micro. This fish came in first place at 15.5" in length. It made a few nice little runs. It even took enough line to get me on the reel. The drag on my Piscifun reel worked great.

These three couldn't resist a hot orange and black size 10 crossover fly. All three were caught on the east side of Arc Park pond around 8:00 am. They seem to prefer the early morning shade provided by the Pine trees. All three were caught within a 10 minute window. Temperatures have cooled a bit. Most days are now 5-7 degrees cooler than they were about two weeks ago. Water levels are still higher than normal, but have been receding due to evaporation and a lack of rainfall.
