Anyone considering getting a puppy should seriously consider the Boxer! Absolutely fantastic dog great with kids very protective of there family and especially the kids also great with other pets of all kinds. There ranked one of the goofiest and most affectionate dogs and they àre in my opinion the best looking breed there is.

Anyone thinking about getting a puppy seriously consider the Boxer! Absolutely best breed there is in my opinion! Excellent with kids and other pets. Very friendly and affectionate and love to cuddle.

Four Dogs in Urgent Need Near STL:

Barnhart, MO:

These 4 adult mixed breed adults, and 5 boxer mix pups are now extremely urgent and must be commited to today Thurs 2/23 by 4pm in order to be considered safe. A couple dogs went home, and a few others were brought in. Judging by the website and not knowing how many bite holds and supervisor holds are using up runs, this could be a dangerous situation. Not to mention, the smaller facilities will likely be doing their drop offs tomorrow for euthanasia. We will not know until late in the day tomorrow, who is on the list, and they will be euthanized before the facility opens to the public on Friday morning. I am begging for everyone's help in networking these dogs and getting them tagged and pulled to safety. I am doing my best to help get these dogs out, but currently have my hands full, with other recent dogs needing placement and will not be of much help until they are placed. Please help save these dogs! They need you more than ever! Thank you!

  There are some beautiful dogs who are now urgent and others soon to be urgent at the Jefferson County Animal Control in Barnhart, MO. We have been so lucky that NO adoptable dogs have been euthanized since early December, and this group of dogs deserves the same. They must be tagged for rescue and pulled from the facility once they are available, in order to be considered safe. Even if they have been tagged for rescue, a backup rescue is always welcomed, in the event that a rescue can no longer take the dog they commited to.

  -All dogs get Bordatella. Depending on age, JCAC has been worming and giving DHPP and rabies.

-Animals are not professionaly temperment tested.  Any comments about behavior are just our observations.

A good medium sized dog!!!! Can climb a chain link fence.  Went straight to the trailer office door!  This past Saturday volunteer said:  "We took her out for a walk today. She wanted to get into all of the cars. She was def someone's pet."

Scared but sweet and friendly.  Just wants out of there.  When the volunteers got him out of his run he became a big wiggle butt!!!  Probably more like six y/o.  Has some skin issues on his rear.  Volunteer said this past Saturday:  "He is such a kind dog and needs out ASAP!"

Volunteer said:  "This guy is Stunning!! He knows commands, sit, down, roll over. He comes off dominate in his kennel but cowers and is submissive when out. He is solid muscle and some sort of hound mix. I LOVE him!!"

Volunteer said "Another sweet brindle female mama dumped right after having pups. She is very nice, didn't react to the dogs around her, was good on a leash and very gently took treats."
