Você quer dizer criar uma box no photoshop por exemplo e usá-la no theme? É simples.

Coloca isso no seu css:

.toposidebar {background: url('URLDASIDE') no-repeat; width: NÚMEROpx; height: NÚMEROpx;}

.conteudo {background: url('URLDASIDE') repeat-y; width: NÚMEROpx;}

.finalsidebar {background: url('URLDASIDE') no-repeat; width: NÚMEROpx; height: NÚMEROpx;}
