Some music I unapologetically like

A few years ago I made a spotify playlist of all my favorite angsty late nineties-early aughts tracks, and you know what? most of them hold up great!

Paramore? Good band. “Misery Business” is a kickass song, and that moment in the chorus where it goes, “God it just feels so” is what that kind of music is supposed to do.

The vast majority of the weird stuff on Panic! at the Disco’s first two albums? Aged hecka well! “Haven’t you heard that I’m the new cancer?” I mean, their lyrics are LOL edgy but they also scan like things of beauty. Scansion is hard and it is nice when people are good at it.

“Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy Tonight?” “The Future Freaks me Out” “Suzie” “Must Have Done Something Right” and Good Charlotte’s the fucking “Anthem” are all top notch songs.

You know what else is good? Bring me to fucking life. 

Anyway this has been a love song to good music from the 90s-00s.
